National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is an Indian big tent political alliance led by the right-wing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). It was founded in 1998 and currently controls the government of India as well as the government of 17 Indian states, and 3 Union Territories.

Asom Gana Parishad is a state political party in Assam, India. The AGP was formed after the historic Assam Accord of 1985 and formally launched at the Golaghat Convention held from 13–14 October 1985 in Golaghat, that let Prafulla Kumar Mahanta to be elected as the youngest chief minister of the state. The AGP has formed government twice from 1985 to 1989 and from 1996 to 2001.

All Assam Students Union

All Assam Students' Union or AASU is a students' organisation in Assam, India. It is best known for leading the six-year Assam Movement against illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. The leadership, after the historic Assam Accord of 1985, formed a political party Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), which formed government in Assam twice from 1985 to 1989 and from 1996 to 2001.

2004 Indian general election in Assam

The 2004 Indian general election polls in Assam were held for 14 seats in the state. The result was United Progressive Alliance winning 9 out of the 14 seats, while the National Democratic Alliance, captured only 2 seats. Asom Gana Parishad managed to get 2 seats.

The 2014 Indian general election polls in Assam for 14 Lok Sabha seats was held in three phases on 7, 12 and 24 April 2014. The total voter strength of Assam is 18,723,032.

Bhrigu Phukan Indian Politician

Bhrigu Phukan was a leader of Asom Gana Parishad and a cabinet minister in Government of Assam. He was one of the three signatories to the Assam Accord. Phukan was born on 25 April 1956. He was elected for three consecutive terms from the prestigious Jalukbari constituency to the Assam Legislative Assembly from 1985.

The Assam Legislative Assembly Election of 2016 was held in two phases, on 4 and 11 April 2016, to elect members of the 126 constituencies in Assam, a state in North-eastern India. The overall voter turnout was 84.72%, which set a new record for Assam. The turnout was an increase from the 2011 Assembly election figure of 75%.

Hajo is one of the 126 assembly constituencies of Assam a north east state of India. Hajo is also part of Gauhati Lok Sabha constituency.

Brindaban Goswami was a leader of Asom Gana Parishad and former Education Minister in Government of Assam. He was one of the student leader came into limelight during Assam Agitation. He was member of split group of Asom Gana Parishad knowns as Natun Asom Gana Parishad when was formed due to Prafulla Kumar Mahanta. He was also President of Asom Gana Parishad for brief period of time.

Abhayapuri South Assembly constituency is one of the 126 constituencies of the Legislative Assembly of Assam state in northeastern India.[1]

Bhabanipur Vidhan Sabha Constituency is one of the 126 assembly constituencies of the Assam Legislative Assembly in India. Bhabanipur forms part of Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency. There is an assembly segment by the same name in West Bengal Vidhan Sabha as well.

Satyabrat Kalita is an Asom Gana Parishad politician from Assam, India. He has been elected in Assam Legislative Assembly election in 2016 from Kamalpur.

Thaneswar Boro is an Asom Gana Parishad politician from Assam. He has been elected Assam Legislative Assembly from Rangiya. In 2016, he founded a new political outfit called Asom Gana Parishad (Anchalik)

Golaghat Convention

The Golaghat Convention was a historic national convention of the people of Assam, organised in Golaghat for 2 days from 13–14 October 1985.

The 2018 Assam panchayat election were held in two phases, on 5 and 9 December 2018. The counting of votes started on 12 December and results were declared on 15 December. More than 15.6 million people were eligible to vote and voter turnout was over 78 per cent.

Raijor Dal Political party in India

The Raijor Dal ) is an Indian political party based in the state of Assam. The formation of the party was the culmination of more than 15 years of struggle of its parent mass organization Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti(KMSS) for land rights, farmers rights, ecological conservation and protection of lives and livelihoods of the working classes of Assam. In the wake of the statewide Anti-CAA movement where KMSS and 70 other organizations played a leading role, Akhil Gogoi, the then Chief advisor of KMSS and many others were arrested under draconian laws like the UAPA by the ruling BJP government, A new party was proposed on 2 October 2020 with an aim to overthrow the BJP from power in Assam and provide a progressive regional alternative to the people of the state. Later, Raijor Dal was formally launched on 8 January 2021 at 1st Moran convention. The party's stated political ideology is progressive sub-nationalism which encapsulates ideas of federalism, equal rights self-reliance and scientific temper.

Rekha Rani Das Boro Indian Politician

Rekha Rani Das Boro is a senior politician from Assam, India. She has served as the Minister of State for Social Welfare and Sericulture and Weaving and also the Minister of Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward Classes in the Government of Assam. Rekha Rani Das Boro is the current State Vice-President of BJP Assam Pradesh. She is the daughter of freedom fighter Biren Das Boro, who was also an MLA.

Assam Jatiya Parishad Indian political party

Assam Jaitya Parishad (AJP) is a state political party in Assam, India. It is formed by two student organizations of Assam, All Assam Students Union (AASU) and Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) in September 2020. Former All Assam Students Union General Secretary, Lurinjyoti Gogoi is the first president of Assam Jaitya Parishad. Its party symbol is 'Ship', as alloted by Election Commission of India.

Ashraful Hussain

Ashraful Hussain is an Indian activist, social worker and politician from the state of Assam. He is currently a Member of Assam Legislative Assembly projected by All India United Democratic Front. He was elected to Assam Legislative Assembly from Chenga in the 2021 Assam Legislative Assembly election. He is also a poet and worked as a journalist during early days of his career. He was born and raised in Haripur Village, near Bahari Bazar, in the District of Barpeta, Assam.
