Pooja Pawar is an Indian actress in Marathi cinema and television. [1] She appeared in Marathi cinema during the late 1980s and early 1990s. [2]

Career

Born in Kolhapur, Pooja Pawar made her acting debut at the age of 16 with Sarja (1987), which went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi. She is known for films such as Chikat Navra (1994), Ek Hota Vidushak (1992), Zapatlela (1993), [3] Vishwavinayak (1994), and Topi Var Topi (1995). [4] Zapatlela (1993) remains among the most popular films in Marathi cinema. [5] She then took a break from acting after her marriage and returned to television.

<i>Zapatlela</i> 1993 Indian film

Zapatlela is a 1993 Indian Marathi-language horror comedy film directed and produced by Mahesh Kothare. Released in Maharashtra on 16 April 1993, the film stars an ensemble cast of Mahesh Kothare, Laxmikant Berde, Kishori Ambiye, Pooja Pawar, Madhu Kambikar, Ravindra Berde, Jairam Kulkarni, Vijay Chavan, Raghavendra Kadkol, Bipin Varti and Dilip Prabhavalkar in a cameo appearance as well as the voiceover for the puppet Tatya Vinchu. The practical effects involving the puppet Tatya Vinchu in the film were created by Ramdas Padhye, a ventriloquist and puppeteer, and the film was followed by a sequel Zapatlela 2 released 20 years later in 2013 in 3D format. The film is an adaptation of 1988 Hollywood film Child's Play and is dubbed in Hindi as Khilona Bana Khalnayak.

Prajakta Mali is an Indian actress known for her work in Marathi film and television. She was born in Pandharpur and brought up in Pune. She started her career with Star Pravah's Suvasini in 2011. Later, she appeared in Zee Marathi's Julun Yeti Reshimgathi in 2013. Currently she is hosting Sony Marathi's Maharashtrachi Hasyajatra.
