Thiruvananthapuram, commonly shortened to TVM. Formerly known as Trivandrum, is the capital city of the Indian state of Kerala. It is the most populous city in Kerala with a population of 2,984,154 as of 2024. The encompassing urban agglomeration population is around 1.68 million. Located on the west coast of India near the extreme south of the mainland, Thiruvananthapuram is a major information technology hub in Kerala and contributes 55% of the state's software exports as of 2016. Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, Trivandrum is an autonomous non-profit institution working under the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala. It was founded in August 1998 for the promotion of cinema in Kerala, considering that cinema is the most popular art form in Kerala. The academy was first of its kind in India and was formed on the basis of the Karant committee report (1980), which proposed the formation of a national film academy. Under the leadership of T K Ramakrishnan, The Minister for Cultural Affairs appointed Shaji N.Karun as its first chairman.
Nelliyode Vasudevan Namboodiri or Nelliyod Vasudevan Namboodiri was a Kathakali artiste, noted primarily for his vibrant portrayal of the evil chuvanna thaadi roles of the classical Kathakali dance-drama from Kerala in south India. He was also very famous and known for the characters 'Kuchelan' from Kuchelavritham and 'Aashaari' from Bakavadham.
Kayamkulam Kochunni was a heroic outlaw from Kayamkulam, who lived during the late 19th century. He was active in the Travancore area in the present-day Kerala, India. He is said to have stolen from the rich and given to the poor. Legends on his life are part of the folklore of Kerala. His stories are often associated with his friend and fellow outlaw Ithikkara Pakki. A shrine dedicated to Kochunni exist near Kozhencherry.
P. K. Gurudasan is an Indian politician, trade unionist, and a member of Communist Party of India (Marxist). He was the Minister for Excise, Labour and Employment in the Government of Kerala headed by VS Achuthanandan between 2006 and 2011. He represented Kollam Assembly constituency in the Kerala Legislative Assembly from 2006 to 2016. He is also the State President of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) and a member of Central Committee of CPI(M). Gurudasan earlier served as the General Secretary of Kerala State unit of CITU.
M. Vijayakumar, is an Indian politician who belongs to the CPI(M). He served as an MLA, minister, and Speaker in the Kerala Legislative Assembly. He has been on the State and Central Committee of CPI(M). As an MLA, he represented the erstwhile Thiruvananthapuram North constituency in the Assembly.
Central Prison & Correctional Home, Viyyur, is situated in Thrissur in Kerala state of India and is authorised to accommodate 520 prisoners. It is one of the four central prisons other than Poojappura, Kannur and Tavanur, situated in Kerala state. It is one of the most important correctional and detention centers in the state. As per Kerala Prison Rules, the prison is meant to detain convicted habitual prisoners on a long-term basis. The prison has separate buildings designated as special jail and sub-jail meant for short-term convicts and people on trial, respectively.

Kizhakkayil Mathai Chandy was an Indian Freedom fighter, Indian National Congress leader, Member of the Travancore–Cochin Legislative Assembly who also served as the governor of the Indian states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and the Union Territory of Pondicherry. From 1948 to 1951, he served as a member of the Travancore State Legislature. From 1952 to 1954, he served as a M.L.A. in the Travancore-Cochin Legislative Assembly. He was also the former president of Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) and chairman of Rubber Board.

J. Hareendran Nair is an Indian Ayurveda practitioner and entrepreneur from Kerala. He is the founder of Pankajakasthuri Herbals, This is a business group that contributed to the promotion and popularising of Ayurveda and ayurvedic products across the country. In 2012, the Government of India, honored him with Padma Shri for his services to the cause of Ayurveda.
Welcome to Central Jail is a 2016 Indian Malayalam-language comedy film written by Benny P. Nayarambalam and directed by Sundar Das. The cinematography is handled by Alagappan N. The film features Dileep and Vedhika in the lead roles, whereas Renji Panicker, Kailash, Aju Varghese, Siddique, Vinaya Prasad and Thesni Khan portray pivotal roles. The film released on 10 September 2016. The film received generally positive response from critics and the film was a commercial success at the box office.
The LBS Centre for Science and Technology (LBSCS&T) is an autonomous body established in 1976 by the Government of Kerala, India. The Centre facilitates communication between educational institutions and the government. Another objective in setting up the centre was establishing and running institutions of technical education in Kerala. The head offices of the centre are at Nandavanam, Palayam, Thiruvananthapuram. Currently the centre has five regional units located at Kollam, Kalamassery, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Kannur.

K. A. Damodara Menon (1906-1980) was an Indian National Congress politician, minister, journalist, writer, freedom fighter and an activist in the movement for united Kerala. He was elected to the Provincial Parliament in 1950 and Indian Parliament from Kozhikode as a representative of Kisan Mazdoor Praja Party, in 1952. During his term as a member of Kerala Legislative Assembly, he served as the Minister for Industries and Local Administration.
The Kerala Prisons and Correctional Services is a state agency of Kerala that operates prisons and borstal schools. It has its headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram. The Kerala Prisons and Correctional Services is headed by the Director General of Prisons.
