Pop is the debut studio album from British pop duo and 2007 The X Factor finalists Same Difference. The album was released on December 1, 2008 by Syco Records. The album debuted at number 22 on the UK Album Chart, on first week sales of 31,064. [1]
The album was recorded following on from their appearance in The X Factor, and contains both original tracks and cover versions of songs they performed during the show. The cover versions include "Breaking Free" (from the Disney film High School Musical ), "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" (originally by Starship), "I Need A House" (originally by Marie Serneholt), "Turn It into Love" (originally by Kylie Minogue), "Let Me Be The One" (originally by Six) and "Still Amazed", a retitled version of "The Way it Used to Be", also by Six. The release of the album is preceded by Same Difference's debut single "We R One", which was released on 24 November 2008 and reached number 13 in the UK Singles Chart. "Turn It into Love" was originally supposed to be the official second single. Pop entered the UK Albums Chart at number 22 with first week sales with 31,064.
After the release of their debut album, Same Difference and their record label Syco parted ways. Sarah Smith stated that she is pleased that any decisions made by herself and sibling Sean Smith will not have to be run through by SyCo their previous label. [2]

The MacDonald Brothers, now performing as The Macs, are a Scottish pop folk duo from Ayr, South Ayrshire, Scotland, consisting of brothers Brian and Craig MacDonald. They first rose to prominence in the third UK series of television talent show The X Factor in 2006, and have since gone on to release four studio albums. Their debut studio album, self-titled The MacDonald Brothers was released in April 2007 to positive reviews. The album went on to top the charts in their native Scotland and also performed well on the UK Albums Chart, peaking at number 18.
Syco Music, originally and formerly S Records, was a division of Syco Entertainment which operated from 2002 until 2020. The label was founded by British entrepreneur, record executive and media personality Simon Cowell, who was formerly employed at Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG).

Jackson described the album as "a mixture in styles of modern jazz with singer-songwriter elements, and a lot of it is really soulful." Right Now received mixed reviews although the single, "Don't Call This Love", which was released as the album's second single in October 2008, entered the UK Singles Chart at number three and the Scottish Singles Charts at number one, where it remained on the top position for two weeks.

Overcome is the debut studio album by British singer Alexandra Burke, released 19 October 2009 on Syco Music. Matthew Sheridan Cardle is an English pop singer. He was born in Southampton and grew up in Halstead, Essex. Cardle has been involved in music since his early teens and has been a member of two different bands; Darwyn and Seven Summers. Cardle rose to fame after winning the seventh series of The X Factor in 2010, and received a £1 million recording contract with Syco Music and later signed a deal with Columbia Records.
Cher Lloyd is an English singer. She participated on the seventh series of the television talent show The X Factor in 2010 and finished in fourth place. Following the show, Lloyd was signed to Syco Music in the United Kingdom and Epic Records in the United States. She released her debut studio album, Sticks and Stones, in 2011, which had two releases: its standard edition and a US version. The album peaked at number four on the UK Albums Chart, while the latter version debuted at number nine in the US Billboard 200. Heartbreak on Hold is the second studio album by British singer Alexandra Burke. Syco and RCA Records made it available digitally on June 1, 2012, and in physical format on June 4. It is her final release for both record labels, which she left between 2012 and the following year. Following the success of her debut studio album, Overcome (2009), Burke began work on her sophomore album in late 2010. Described by Burke as a record full of "risks", she worked with a diverse group of artists and producers, including Cutfather, Erick Morillo, Autumn Rowe, and Ben Adams, among others. Additionally, Burke co-wrote three tracks on the album.

Ben Haenow is the self-titled debut studio album by English singer Ben Haenow, released on 13 November 2015, through Syco Music and RCA Records. After winning the eleventh series of The X Factor in 2014, Haenow travelled to Los Angeles to immediately begin development of the album by collaborating with established musicians such as Kelly Clarkson, Julian Bunetta, Iain James, Kodaline, Anne Preven, Red Triangle, Steve Robson, J.R.
