The U.S. General Services Administration has leased space in the building since 2011. The site was the focal point of a week-long demonstration in 2018 and is one during the ongoing 2025 protests. [1]

The building closed for 22 days during the summer of 2025. [2] Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem visited the facility in October 2025. [3] [4]

The city has threatened to evict ICE from the building over permit violations. [5] [6] [7]
