Prabhu Mundkur is an Indian film actor who hails from Manipal. He started his career with Kannada television soap Kulavadhu in 2016. His movie debut happened in 2017 through Urvi, a critically acclaimed movie in the Kannada film industry.
Prabhu Mundkur was born on 5 December 1988 to a Konkani speaking orthodox family in Manipal, in Udupi. [1] He completed his schooling at Bangalore and Udupi and graduated from St. Aloysius College, Mangalore. He also holds a post graduate degree in Applied Microbiology from the University of Madras. Prior to pursuing acting, he worked as a research scientist [2] for Biocon and ITC Limited. He married Kavita Kudtarkar (Nakshatra Prabhu) in 2012 and they have a daughter and twin boy and girl.
Prior to his acting career, Prabhu undertook modelling assignments with regional apparel brands. He began working for theater and short films; he played the lead in Meendum Orumurai, a Tamil language short film released in 2016. He underwent training at Usha Bhandari's film institute in 2014 and after a couple of years of acting in minor characters, he was called up for a role in 2016's critically acclaimed Kannada film Urvi. Puneeth Rajkumar, affectionately known as Appu, was an Indian actor, playback singer, film producer, television presenter and philanthropist who worked in Kannada cinema. He was the youngest son of legendary actor and matinee idol Dr. Rajkumar. He was one of the most popular actors in Kannada cinema. He appeared as a lead in 32 films. As a child, he appeared in many films. His performances as a child actor in Vasantha Geetha (1980), Bhagyavantha (1981), Chalisuva Modagalu (1982), Eradu Nakshatragalu (1983), Bhakta Prahaladha (1983), Yarivanu (1984) and Bettada Hoovu (1985) were praised. He won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role of Ramu in Bettada Hoovu. He also won Karnataka State Award Best Child artist for Chalisuva Modagalu and Eradu Nakshatragalu. Puneeth's first lead role was in 2002's Appu. In a career spanning three decades, he has won one National Film Award, four Karnataka State Film Awards, six Filmfare Awards South and five SIIMA awards. He was conferred with the Doctorate by Mysuru University. The Karnataka Government conferred the state's highest civilian award, Karnataka Ratna, to Puneeth Rajkumar on 1 November 2022, posthumously.
Diganth Manchale, known professionally as Diganth, is an Indian actor who predominantly works in Kannada films. Diganth made his acting debut in Miss California (2006) and is best known for his performance in Gaalipata (2008). D/O Parvathamma is a 2019 Indian Kannada action drama film written and directed Shankar J and starring Hariprriya and Sumalatha along with Suraj Gowda and Prabhu Mundkur. The film is Hariprriya's 25th Kannada Movie. The project was announced on 25 May 2018.
