Sharad Govindrao Pawar, is an Indian politician with over sixty years of public service. He holds a position of prominence in Indian politics as well as in the regional politics of Maharashtra. During his long career, Pawar has served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra on three occasions and held the posts of Minister of Defence and Minister of Agriculture in the Government of India. He is president of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), which he founded in 1999, after separating from the Indian National Congress. He leads the NCP delegation in the Rajya Sabha, the upper chamber of the Indian parliament. Vishnu Savara was a leader of the Indian Bharatiya Janata Party. His parents belonged to a family of farmers residing in the village of Galtare in Wada, a tehsil in Palghar district. Savara, a cabinet minister for tribal development in the government of Maharashtra, was elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from the Wada constituency in 1990, 1995, 1999, and 2004. Shri Keshavrao Sonavane (1925–2006)(Marathi: केशवराव सोनवणे ) was an Indian politician, who served four terms in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, and was a Co-operative minister in Yashwantrao Chavan's cabinet and later Vasantrao Naik's cabinet during 1962–1967. He was elected as Member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for 4 times, twice from Latur constituency and twice from Ausa constituency.
