Pradeep Mahto alias Pradeep Kumar is a former Member of Legislative Assembly for the year 2005 and 2010 from the Warisaliganj (Vidhan Sabha constituency) of the Nawada region of Bihar. Mahto is a nephew and former associate of Ashok Mahto,the gangster who was indulged in a long drawn battle with Akhilesh Singh,another gangster of the region. The Mahto and Singh gang were arranged on the caste lines and proclaimed themselves as the group serving the interest of Kurmi and Bhumihar community of the region respectively. [2]
Mahto was born to Laxmi Mahto and has remained associated with his uncle's gang in initial years of life. After the arrest of Ashok Mahto he became the de facto leader of the faction which was associated with the several killings in the region particularly of upper-caste people and supporters of Akhilesh Singh. [3] In 2000 Aruna Devi,the wife of Akhilesh Singh was elected as the Member of Legislative Assembly from the Warisaliganj. In 2005 she again contested the election from the same seat but this time on the symbol of Lok Janshakti Party. Aruna though won in February but in the by polls held in October in the same year,she lost to Pradeep Mahto,who became the MLA for the first time for a period of five years. Mahto had contested against her as Independent candidate. In 2010 Janata Dal (United) allotted its symbol to the Mahto from the Warisaliganj and he emerged victorious once again;but this time as a candidate of JD(U). [4]
His association with JD (U) has a long history,and he has served as the district president of the party for Nawada,for a number of times. [5] Mahto has been facing several criminal charges including those of murder. [6] Pradeep's political career was shaken,when in 2015,Aruna Devi defeated him in the Assembly Election as the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate. In 2020 Pradeep though himself being unable to contest the assembly elections due to his conviction in one of the case launched his wife as independent candidate from Warisaliganj but she lost to Aruna once again. [7] [8] [9] Mahto was also suspected to be the person behind 2001 Nawada Jail break case,in which,he surrendered in the court in the following years,though until then,he managed to get the ticket from JD (U). In the famous Jail break case,he was accused of facilitating the escape of his uncle Ashok Mahto. [10]
Prabhunath Singh is a politician from Bihar,India and was a member of the 12th,13th and 14th Lok Sabha. Singh represented the Masrakh assembly constituency from 1985 to 1995,and the Maharajganj Lok Sabha constituency of Bihar from 1998 to 2009. In 2013,he won the bypoll and remained as MP until 2014. Singh is a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

Ritlal Yadav or Ritlal Ray is a leader of RJD who won the Bihar Legislative Council election in July 2015 as an independent candidate. Ritlal was in jail in connection with multiple criminal cases,including murder charges. Ritlal is accused in over 33 cases. He was a former Member of Legislative Council (MLC),the post,to which he was elected in 2016. He was incarcerated in Beur Jail until August 2020. However he was then released from the jail on bail. Ritlal Yadav defeated BJP's Asha Devi Sinha in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections.

He was elected to the assembly from Kurtha in Arwal district. In 2015 Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections he defeated Ashok Kumar Verma of Rashtriya Lok Samata Party.
The criminal Ashok Mahto gang,which was active in the Indian state Bihar,was led by Ashok Mahto and included Pintu Mahto. Ashok Mahto and his gang were responsible for the 2005 killing of Rajo Singh,a sitting Member of Parliament. Ashok Mahto was imprisoned but escaped from Nawada jail in 2002. Pintu Mahto killed three police officers during the prison breakout. The gang's leaders are said to belong to either the Kurmi or Koeri caste,and were supported by the backward castes in the Nawada and Sheikhpura regions. The Mahto gang was waging a war of retribution against the exploitative upper-caste Bhumihars. Mahto and his gang were responsible for the killings of a large number of Forward Caste people in the late 1990s.
Abhay Kushwaha alias is an Indian politician from the Rashtriya Janata Dal,and a Member of Parliament representing Aurangabad in Bihar,India and former Member of Legislative Assembly for Tikari in the Gaya district of Bihar. An erstwhile member of Janata Dal (United);he won the 2015 Legislative Assembly election to the Tekari constituency by defeating Anil Kumar of Hindustani Awam Morcha,a political party led by former Bihar Chief Minister,Jitan Ram Manjhi. He defeated Anil Kumar by a huge margin of votes. While Abhay secured 86,975 votes,Anil managed to get 55,162 votes only. In 2024 Indian general election,he won the Aurangabad,Bihar Lok Sabha constituency by defeating BJP's four term member of parliament,Sushil Kumar Singh. He contested on the symbol of Rashtriya Janata Dal in this election.

Aruna Devi is an Indian politician from Bharatiya Janata Party,Bihar who is currently Member of Bihar Legislative Assembly representing Warisaliganj of Nawada district. She was elected as the Member of Bihar Legislative Assembly for the first time in 2000 as an Independent. She emerged victorious for the second time in February 2005 as Lok Janshakti Party candidate. She later joined Indian National Congress and contested as Congress candidate in October 2005 &2010 but lost to Pradeep Mahto of Janata Dal (United). Mohammad Nehaluddin is a Rashtriya Janta Dal senior leader and Bihar Legislative Assembly Member from Rafiganj Assembly Constituency. He won in 2020 Bihar Assembly Election on RJD ticket. He is a three-term MLA from the Rafiganj constituency. He defeated Independent candidate by 11 thousand votes and two term incumbent JD(U) MLA Asok Kumar Singh came a distant third.

Singh,who represented the Hathua Assembly constituency,became a minister for the first time in the Nitish government in 2019. Prior to this,he had held the post of Chief Whip of the ruling JD(U) for two terms. He is a resident of Asnand Tola village of Uchkagaon block. Before becoming an MLA,he was also the head of Balesra Panchayat. After winning the election of Mukhiya,he became an MLA for the first time from Hathua Assembly under the symbol of Nitish Kumar's JD(U). This was followed by his four consecutive electoral victories for the membership of Bihar Legislative Assembly.
Ramdeo Mahto was an Indian politician,who served as Member of Bihar Legislative Assembly in undivided Bihar. Mahto was elected as a candidate of Bhartiya Jana Sangh to Bihar Legislative Assembly in 1969 Assembly elections from Patna East Assembly constituency. He was also elected for his second term in Bihar Legislative Assembly in 1977 Bihar Assembly elections,this time,as a candidate of Janata Party. Mahto was considered one of the pillars of Bhartiya Jana Sangh in 1960s and he went on to become a minister from Jana Sangh quota in Mahamaya Prasad Sinha's government in 1967.
