The National Democratic Alliance is an Indian big tent multi-party political alliance,led by country's biggest political party the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). It was founded on 15 May 1998 and currently controls the government of India as well as the government of 19 Indian states and one Union territory.

He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party,a former Chief Minister of the Indian state of Jharkhand and the former Minister of Tribal Affairs and Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare in the Second Modi ministry. He has also served as a member of parliament,having been elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from the Jamshedpur constituency in the 2009 parliamentary elections. He was appointed as Jharkhand BJP president on 4 July 2023.
