Dr Rameshwar Oraon (born 14 February 1947) is an Indian politician,who is the current Finance Minister of Jharkhand. He was a member of the 14th Lok Sabha. He represented the Lohardaga constituency of Jharkhand and is a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) political party. [1]
He was formerly an Indian Police Service officer,of the 1972 intake. Recipient of President Police medal. He resigned in 2004 to contest the general election and won on the Congress ticket.
Oraon was chairperson of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes from 28.10.2010 to 27/10/2013,in his 1st term,and again from 28/10/2013 to 26/08/2017,in his 2nd term,and is thus ex officio a member of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
He also served as the Union Minister of State for Tribal affairs in Government of India,headed by Manmohan Singh. He has taken oath after winning the 2019 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly election as a Jharkhand minister on Sunday 29 December. [2]

On 26 August 2019,Rameshwar Oraon was appointed by the Congress,as the new president of Jharkhand State unit. [3]
He contested the 2019 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly election from Lohardaga,as a member of the Congress. He defeated BJP candidate,Sukhdeo Bhagat.
On 29 December 2019,he was sworn in as the Cabinet Minister in the Government of Jharkhand,headed by Chief Minister Hemant Soren,along with Alamgir Alam and Satyanand Bhokta. [4]

Shibu Soren is an Indian politician who is currently member of Rajya Sabha representing Jharkhand and the leader of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. He formerly served as 3rd Chief Minister of Jharkhand,first in 2005 for 10 days,then from 2008 to 2009 and again from 2009 to 2010. He is also the President of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) political party,a constituent of the UPA. He was the member of Lok Sabha from Dumka from 1980 to 1984,1989 to 1998 and from 2002 to 2019 and Minister for Coal in the Union Cabinet from 2004 to 2004,2004 to 2005 and from 2006 to 2006,when a Delhi district court found him guilty in the murder of his private secretary Shashi Nath Jha in 1994. He has also been indicted in the past on other criminal charges.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is a political party in the Indian state of Jharkhand which was founded by Binod Bihari Mahato. It has one seat in the 17th Lok Sabha. Shibu Soren is the president of the JMM. JMM is also an influential political party in the state of Odisha and parts of neighbouring of states. Its election symbol for Jharkhand is Bow and Arrow.
The Nikhil Utkal Adivasi Congress was a tribal political movemenent in the Indian state of Orissa. It was launched on the initiative leaders of the Indian National Congress in Orissa,who wanted to counter-mobilize against the territorial claims of the Jharkhand Party on the Orissa tribal belt. The organization was founded by Lal Ranjit Singh Bariha in late 1950. Bariha,Tribal Welfare Minister in the pre-1952 Orissa state government,was accompanied by other ministers in building the organization in the Orissa tribal belt. The Abibasi Mahasabha led by Sonaram Soren merged into the Nikhil Utkal Adivasi Congress. In 1951 the Nikhil Utkal Adivasi Congress was able to counter the Jharkhand movement in Orissa,leading to the marginalization of the latter in Orissa politics. In September 1951 Sonaram Soren was named Acting President of Nikhil Utkal Adivasi Congress.
Baba Kartik Oraon was an Indian politician and an Adivasi leader from the Indian National Congress. He also participated in the Indian freedom movement of 1947. He founded the Akhil Bharatiya Adivasi Vikas Parishad organisation.

Chandra Shekhar Dubey also known as Dadai Dubey was a Cabinet minister in Jharkhand government. He was an elected MLA of Bishrampur. Dadai Dubey is a member of the Indian National Congress political party. Chandrashekhar Dubey was also member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Dhanbad constituency of Jharkhand. Chandrashekhar Dubey was made the state rural development minister in Jharkhand in Hemant Soren government in August 2013. Dubey was also the general secretary of Rashtiya Koyla Mazdoor Sangh affiliated to INTUC. Chandrashekhar Dubey was also a senate member of Nilamber Pitamber University,nominated by Hon'ble Speaker of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. In July 2015,Dadai Dubey was arrested for misbehaving with the police and was sent to judicial custody.

Ratanjit Pratap Narain Singh or R. P. N. Singh,is an Indian politician and former Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs. He was the Member of Parliament for Kushinagar constituency in the fifteenth Lok Sabha from 2009 to 2014. In the 2014 General Election,despite an increase in his own votes,he was defeated by Rajesh Pandey (BJP). He lost again in 2019. In September 2020,Singh was chosen for AICC in charge of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.

Haji Hussain Ansari was an Indian politician and a leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). He served as Minister of Minority Welfare and Registration Department in the Government of Jharkhand since 28 January 2020. Ansari was the first and only Muslim to become minister in the state of Jharkhand. He was elected to the Jharkhand Assembly on the JMM ticket four times from Madhupur Assembly constituency in 1995,2000,2009 and 2019 respectively. He also acted as the leader of the opposition in 2004.
Sukhdeo Bhagat was the Jharkhand Congress president and MLA in the Jharkhand representing Lohardaga constituency in Lohardaga district. He joined the BJP in 2019 and lost to Congress candidate Rameshwar Oraon in the Jharkhand assembly polls 2019. On 30 January 2022,Bhagat rejoined Congress.

He is a member of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and represents Seraikella assembly constituency as MLA since 2005. Previously,he was serving as the Cabinet Minister of Transport,Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Caste &Backward class welfare,Government of Jharkhand in the cabinet of 2nd Hemant Soren ministry from 2019 to 2024.
The 2024 Jharkhand legislative assembly election is scheduled to be held in November–December 2024 to elect all 81 members of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. Champai Soren is the incumbent Chief Minister of Jharkhand.
