The High Court of Bombay is the high court of the states of Maharashtra and Goa in India,and the union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. It is seated primarily at Mumbai,and is one of the oldest high courts in India. The High Court has circuit benches at Nagpur and Aurangabad in Maharashtra and Panaji,the capital of Goa.
The High Court of Karnataka is the High Court of the Indian state of Karnataka and thus its highest judicial authority. The court's principal bench is located in Bengaluru,the capital city of Karnataka,with additional benches in Hubballi-Dharwada and Kalaburagi. It was previously called the High Court of Mysore. On 13 October 2011,the Supreme Court bench headed by Justice R Raveendran,inexplicably,nearly halved the sum of compensation awarded to victims by the [Delhi high court],and slashed punitive damages to be paid by cinema owners,the Ansal brothers,from ₹2.5 crore to ₹25 lakh. He retired the next day,14 October 2011,upon reaching superannuation. On 27 October 2021,Supreme Court of India appointed Justice RV Raveendran to supervise a three-member committee that will examine the allegations of unauthorised surveillance using Israeli spyware Pegasus.
