Pre-Scenes From a Memory was a concert by Dream Theater, supporting Deep Purple, after the making of Dream Theater's Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory album. This was the first show Jordan Rudess played in the band as an official member of Dream Theater. [1] The show was held in Inchon, Seoul, South Korea (Triport '99 Rock Festival), July 31, 1999. This also was the first rock festival ever in South Korea.

Dream Theater American progressive metal band

Dream Theater is an American progressive metal band formed in 1985 under the name Majesty by John Petrucci, John Myung and Mike Portnoy while they attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. They subsequently dropped out of their studies to concentrate further on the band that would eventually become Dream Theater. Though a number of lineup changes followed, the three original members remained together until September 8, 2010, when Portnoy left the band and he was replaced several months later by Mike Mangini. James LaBrie has been the lead singer of Dream Theater since 1991, replacing Charlie Dominici who had left the band two years earlier. Dream Theater's first keyboardist, Kevin Moore, left the band after three albums and was replaced by Derek Sherinian in 1995 after a period of touring. After one album with Sherinian, the band replaced him with current keyboardist Jordan Rudess in 1999.

Liquid Tension Experiment American band

Liquid Tension Experiment (LTE) was an English-American instrumental progressive metal supergroup, founded by Mike Portnoy, then Dream Theater's drummer, in 1997. The band has released two albums through Magna Carta Records. A third album, with the absence of John Petrucci was released in 2007 under the name "Liquid Trio Experiment". A live album with the absence of Jordan Rudess (mostly) was released in 2009 under the name "Liquid Trio Experiment 2". Three live albums and two videos were released in 2009 by the complete band.

Live Scenes from New York is a 3-disc live album by progressive metal band Dream Theater, recorded on August 30, 2000, at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City. Live Scenes from New York is the audio counterpart to the Metropolis 2000: Scenes from New York DVD, released in 2001, except the full concert can only be found on the CD. Two videos of the concert, not released with the DVD, were included on the CD: "Another Day" and Jordan Rudess's keyboard solo. The album is Dream Theater's first live release with Rudess and their first full-length live release.

"Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence" is the sixth song and title track on the album of the same name, written and performed by progressive metal/rock band Dream Theater. Though the song is essentially broken up into eight movements on separate tracks, it lasts 42 minutes in full and takes up the entire second CD of the album. The song was conceived when keyboardist Jordan Rudess wrote what would become the "Overture" section, and the band took various melodies and ideas contained within it and expanded them into segments of the complete piece. The song explores the stories of six individuals suffering from various mental illnesses. Particularly represented are bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia, post-partum depression, autism, and dissociative identity disorder.

A Dramatic Tour of Events was a worldwide tour by the North American progressive metal/rock band Dream Theater, promoting their eleventh studio album, A Dramatic Turn of Events. It was band's first tour with the new drummer Mike Mangini, who replaced Mike Portnoy after his sudden departure from the band in September 2010. The tour began July 4, 2011 in Rome, Italy and concluded September 1, 2012 in Brasília, Brazil. Unlike the two tours prior, Dream Theater did not tour Australia.

Progressive Nation 2009 was a North American and European tour headlined by the progressive metal band Dream Theater. The tour's concept was created by the drummer Mike Portnoy. The first leg of the tour began on July 24, 2009 in Miami and ended on August 29, 2009 in Los Angeles. The second leg began on September 23 in Helsinki, Finland and ended on October 31 in Ljublijana, Slovenia. This tour was part of the Dream Theater Black Clouds & Silver Linings World Tour, which included a previous European summer tour and following legs in Oceania, South America, North America and two final shows in Japan. Chaos in Motion Tour was a worldwide tour by the North American progressive metal/rock band Dream Theater, promoting their ninth studio album, Systematic Chaos, which was released on June 5, 2007. The 2007/2008 Chaos In Motion World Tour started off in Italy. Dream Theater played in the Gods of Metal concert on June 3, 2007. as well as various other European festivals including the Netherlands' Fields of Rock Festival, UK's Download Festival, the French festival Hellfest Summer Open Air alongside Megadeth, Korn, Mastodon and Slayer. The North American leg of the tour began on July 24 in San Diego, California and wrapped up on August 26 in Philadelphia. They played with opening acts Redemption and Into Eternity. With all of the festivals and package tours that go through America, I've been talking with our manager and agent for over 10 years now about doing something that focuses on the more progressive, musician-oriented side of hard rock and metal. I decided it was time to stop talking the talk, lace up and finally walk the walk." Unlike previous Dream Theater tours, performances were held in cities that they had not visited before in the past or cities they had not played in for several years. Octavarium Tour was a tour by American progressive metal/rock band Dream Theater. They began touring in support of Octavarium in Europe on June 10, 2005, beginning at the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg. The main Octavarium world tour began in September in Finland after the band finished performing for six weeks during Gigantour 2005, and saw the band continue with their "An Evening With Dream Theater" concert format.
