Precious is the second studio album of South Korean singer-songwriter Sogumm. It was released on October 22, 2021, through AOMG. It was later nominated for Best R&B Album at the Korean Music Awards.
In an interview with Bandwagon Asia, Sogumm spoke on the album's creative direction. [1]
I focused on popularity for the music, and artistry for the visuals. I thought the gap between music and visuals would express the confusion that I'm going through, and such imbalance has impacted not only my music but also my relationship with people. I thought it's important to explain and express what I want.
On October 18, 2021, AOMG revealed an image of an unknown figure between trees marked with a red circle through its social media. On the next day, it released a "card news" article that called the figure in the picture "Jangchung-dong white cloth". [2] On October 20, it revealed the album cover and preview video. [3]
The album starts with the mellow "Precious" and builds up to the "heady" dance-hip-hop mix "My Time Is Gold". [4] The fuzz guitar riff of "Complex" quickly changes the mood of the track and creates tension. [5] Lyrically, Sogumm is straightfoward with her lover without thinking too much. [6] She talks about saying goodbye to her loved ones on "So Soon" and sings about jealousy and love on a trap beat on "My Love". [7]
Therese Reyes of Vice wrote that the album is "well thought out but still folky and freeform, like it came from a pure desire to depict deep emotions through sound." [4] Jo Ji-hwan of Tonplein commented that Sogumm succeeded in making unique and fun songs. [5] Rhythmer wrote that she created familiar yet new R&B music by properly combining Sobrightttttttt's avant-garde sound with public appeal. [6]

Kim Dong-wan is a South Korean entertainer, known as a member of South Korean boy band Shinhwa. He has been acting since 2002, and has starred in television dramas such as A Farewell to Sorrow and Children of Heaven. He has said that given the opportunity he would prefer a career in acting rather than as a singer, However, since the release of his debut album, he has stated that now he prefers singing more. From Shinhwa, Kim is the fourth member to go solo, following Lee Min-woo, Shin Hye-sung, and Jun Jin.
Lee Seong-hwa, better known by his stage name Gray, is a South Korean rapper, singer and record producer. In 2012, he released his debut single "Blink". In 2021, he released his first studio album Grayground. He is currently signed to hip hop label AOMG.

Perfect Velvet is the second studio album by South Korean girl group Red Velvet. Released by SM Entertainment on November 17, 2017, the record incorporates R&B, soul and hip-hop with influences from future bass, trap and synth-pop, and saw contributions from various songwriters and production teams. Kwon So-hee, known professionally as Sogumm, is a South Korean singer-songwriter. In 2019, she released albums Not My Fault and Sobrightttttttt, which were met with critical acclaim. She won Signhere and signed to AOMG in the same year. She won Rookie of the Year at the Korean Music Awards in 2020 and released her second studio album Precious in 2021.
Sobrightttttttt is the debut studio album of South Korean singer-songwriter Sogumm. It was released on October 21, 2019, through Balming Tiger. It was later nominated for Best R&B Album at the Korean Music Awards.
Park Min-young, known professionally as Meenoi (Korean: 미노이), is a South Korean singer. She released her debut studio album In My Room in 2021. In 2022, she released single "Ghosting" with Woo Won-jae which was nominated for Best Collaboration at the MAMA Awards. In 2023, she signed to AOMG.
