AOMG is a South Korean hip-hop and R&B record label founded in 2013 by rapper and singer-songwriter Jay Park. The label currently houses 20 musicians, UFC fighter Chan Sung Jung, and cartoonist Kian84.
Above Ordinary Music Group (AOMG) is a prominent Korean hip-hop and R&B record label originating from the "Art of Movement," a Seattle-based B-Boying group which Jay Park joined in 2003, featuring members such as Dial Tone, Junior, and Cha Cha Malone.
Jay Park founded AOMG in late September 2013, and initially signed composer Jun Goon, singer and producer Gray, and Seattle affiliate Cha Cha Malone, who was a producer and dancer with Jay Park's dance crew Art of Movement. [1] The label had its launch party on October 10, 2013, at "The A" in Seoul with Ben Baller as the host. [2] The same month, the label released its first album, Gray's mini-album, Call Me Gray. [3]
Artists Elo, Loco, Ugly Duck, DJ Wegun, DJ Pumkin, and Hoody joined AOMG over the next two years. [4]
In March 2014, Simon Dominic announced that he had joined AOMG as co-CEO several months after his departure from his former label Amoeba Culture. [5]
In January 2016, South Korean media company CJ E&M announced that it had formed a strategic partnership with AOMG. [6] CJ E&M said in a statement that it would "support" AOMG with distribution and marketing, while AOMG would continue to control its music. [7]
On October 30, 2017, rapper Woo Won-jae signed to the label. [8]
On May 9, 2018, UFC fighter Jung Chan-sung (The Korean Zombie) signed to the label. [9] On June 11, 2018, record producer Code Kunst signed to the label and released the single "Rain Bird". [10] On July 25, 2018, Simon Dominic announced his resignation as co-CEO of AOMG with his song "Me No Jay Park". [11]
In August 2019, AOMG's first hip-hop audition show Signhere began airing on MBN, marking the first ever hip-hop and R&B record label to have their own audition program on broadcast television. [12] Singer-songwriter Sogumm won the show and subsequently signed to AOMG on November 1. [13] On November 6, 2019, rapper Punchnello signed to the label. [14]
On April 8, 2020, singer-songwriter DeVita signed to the label and released her debut EP Creme. [15] On July 24, 2020, singer Lee Hi signed to the label after her departure from YG Entertainment and released the single "Holo". [16] On September 4, 2020, record producer Goosebumps signed to the label and released the single "Somewhere" featuring labelmates Gray, Hoody, Elo, and DeVita. [17]
On February 18, 2021, AOMG signed singer Yugyeom, a member of South Korean boy group Got7, following his departure from JYP Entertainment in January 2021. [18] His "Franchise" dance video was uploaded to the label's YouTube channel on the same day. [19] On December 31, Jay Park announced his resignation as the Co-CEO of AOMG. [20]
On January 25, 2022, rapper Coogie signed to the label and released the single "Re:Up". [21] On October 24, rapper Jvcki Wai signed to the label and released the single "Go Back". [22]
On February 14, 2023, Sogumm departed from the label as her contract expired. [23] On April 1, cartoonist Kian84 signed to the label. [24] On April 24, AOMG established sublabel Solabeam Records that consists of DJs and producers. [25] On November 9, singer Meenoi signed to the label. [26]
In December 2018, AOMG announced that the profits made from "119 Remix" would be donated to organizations related to firefighting and fire accidents. [27] In September 2019, Gray donated the song revenue (25 million won) to Seoul Metropolitan Fire & Disaster Headquarters on behalf of the artists who participated in the song. [28]
In August 2020, AOMG donated the revenue of their online concert (around 12 million won) to Community Chest of Korea to support those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. [29]

Korean hip-hop, also known as K-hip-hop or K-rap, is a subgenre of the South Korean popular music.
Kim Hyun-jung, better known by the stage name Hoody (Korean: 후디), is a South Korean singer-songwriter. She debuted in 2013 as a member of the all-female underground hip hop crew Amourette. In 2015, she became the first female artist to sign to the hip hop record label AOMG.
Jay Park is an American rapper based in South Korea. He is a member of the Seattle-based b-boy crew Art of Movement (AOM), and founder and former CEO of the independent hip hop record labels AOMG and H1ghr Music, as well as the founder of the record label More Vision. Park returned to South Korea in June 2010 for the filming of Hype Nation, and in July, Park signed a contract with SidusHQ, one of the largest entertainment agencies in South Korea. Rebranding and re-debuting as both a solo singer and a rapper, Park's musical identity would lend to him partaking in the underground hip hop culture in South Korea, a rarity for both active and former K-Pop idols.
Lee Seong-hwa, better known by his stage name Gray, is a South Korean rapper and record producer. In 2012, he released his debut single "Blink". In 2021, he released his first studio album Grayground.
Jung Ki-suck, better known by his stage name Simon Dominic, is a South Korean hip hop recording artist. He debuted in 2009 as a member of the hip-hop duo Supreme Team, which disbanded in 2013. As a solo artist, he has released two studio albums: Simon Dominic Presents: SNL League Begins (2011) and Darkroom (2018), and two extended plays: Won & Only (2015) and No Open Flames (2019).
Sun Ju-kyung, better known by his stage name Ugly Duck, is a South Korean rapper and singer. He released his debut album, Scene Stealers with Jay Park, on July 13, 2016.
Jo Sung-woo, better known by his stage name Code Kunst, is a South Korean composer and music producer. In 2015, he released his second studio album Crumple and joined Highgrnd. In 2017, he released his third studio album Muggles' Mansion. In 2018, he signed to AOMG and appeared as a judge alongside Paloalto on Show Me the Money 777. He released his fourth studio album People in 2020 and won Producer of the Year at the Korean Hip-hop Awards in 2021. In 2023, he released his fifth studio album Remember Archive.
Woo Won-jae, also known as Woo, is a South Korean rapper. In 2017, he released his debut single "We Are" which had commercial success and widespread acclaim. He has released one studio album and two EPs.
GroovyRoom (Korean: 그루비룸) is a South Korean DJ, music producing and composing duo consisting of Park Gyu-jeong and Lee Hwi-min. They mainly produce hip-hop songs such as boom bap and trap. The songs they produce have a producer tag called "Groovy Everywhere".
The Korean Hip-hop Awards is an annual South Korean music awards ceremony. It was first held in 2017 and is hosted by the hip hop web magazines Hiphople and Hiphopplaya. The winners are decided by 70% critic vote and 30% netizen vote from 2023.
Kim Ryeong-hwa, better known by her stage name Sleeq (Korean: 슬릭), is a South Korean rapper. She joined the hip hop record label Daze Alive in 2013, and has released two full-length albums: Colossus (2016) and Life Minus F is Lie (2018).
Hong Ye-eun, known professionally as Jvcki Wai (Korean: 재키와이), is a South Korean rapper. In 2018, she signed to Indigo Music and released her debut studio album Enchanted Propaganda. In 2021, she won Collaboration of the Year at the Korean Hip-hop Awards with "Fadeaway".
H1ghr Music is an international hip hop and R&B record label founded by Korean American musician Jay Park and long time Seattle affiliate Cha Cha Malone in 2017. Stationed primarily in South Korea, the label was created with the intent to "bridge the gap" between American and Korean artists, with a focus on adjacent Seattle talent. Currently, the label houses over 17 artists.

Balming Tiger is a South Korean musical collective founded in 2018 in Seoul. The group consists of director San Yawn, rapper Omega Sapien, DJ Abyss, music video directors Jan'Qui and Leesuho, singer-songwriters Sogumm, Wnjn, and Mudd the Student, and editor Henson. In 2018, they released their first single, "I'm Sick".
Kim Jeong-hun, known professionally as Coogie (Korean: 쿠기), is a South Korean rapper and songwriter. He gained popularity when he appeared on Show Me The Money 777 in 2018. He signed to hip-hop label ATM Seoul where he released the studio album Up! (2020), extended plays Coogie (2018), Emo #1 (2018), and S.O.S (2019), and the mixtape I Got A Feeling (2021). In 2020, he released the single "Fadeaway" with Jvcki Wai, Paloalto, The Quiett, and Bassagong, which won Collaboration of the Year at the Korean Hip-hop Awards.
Homies is a South Korean hip hop group composed of Chin, CK, and Louie. They first garnered attention when they appeared on the YouTube hip hop audition program Superbee's Rap Academy in 2019.
