Precision Camera & Video Repair, Inc. (also referred to as PCVR or Precision Camera) is the world's largest camera and camcorder repair facility. [1]

The company has its headquarters in Enfield, Connecticut and operations in El Paso, Texas and Juarez, Mexico. PCVR offers services for digital and film cameras and camcorders, digital SLR cameras, film based SLR cameras, ED and L series lenses, and on-camera electronic flash units. [2] 

Founded in 1948, PCVR provides repair services for a "wide variety of customers ranging from national retailers to individual consumers." Precision Camera Repair is a camera repair service provider for leading consumer electronics retailers, such as Best Buy, [3] and third party extended warranty companies. Precision Camera also provides repair services for individual customers worldwide by web order through the company's website. PCVR is an authorized repair facility for the industry's leading manufacturers, including Sony, Kodak, Fujifilm, [4] Nikon, [5] Pentax, [6] and Canon, among others and has service contracts with major retailers including BestBuy. Community involvement

Precision Camera is also known for its community involvement initiatives. Partnering with Best Buy, Precision Camera has been an active supporter of the Black Woods Blizzard Tour to raise money and awareness for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. [12] PCVR also annually sponsors a breast cancer awareness event with Estee Lauder and Nikon. [13] Locally, Precision Camera is a sponsor of the local battered women’s shelter, Network Against Domestic Abuse, and supports employees who volunteer for the Russian Evan Baptist Church in Westfield, Massachusetts, supporting children in former Soviet Bloc countries who were orphaned following the Berlin Wall collapse and the Soviet Union’s demise. [13] Precision Camera also partners with the local Enfield school district to create an event called the Reality Store and a daily bottle and can collection program to fund student activities. [13]

Nikon FM2

The Nikon FM2 is an advanced semi-professional, interchangeable lens, 35 mm film, single-lens reflex (SLR) camera. It was manufactured by Nippon Kogaku K. K. in Japan from 1982 to 2001. The original camera was released with some incremental improvements in 1984, and this later version is commonly referred to as the FM2n, although both versions are labelled as the FM2 on the front of the camera body.

APS-C Image sensor format

Advanced Photo System type-C (APS-C) is an image sensor format approximately equivalent in size to the Advanced Photo System film negative in its C ("Classic") format, of 25.1×16.7 mm, an aspect ratio of 3:2. A kit lens is a "starter" lens which can be sold with an interchangeable-lens camera such as a single-lens reflex camera. It is generally an inexpensive lens priced at the lowest end of the manufacturer's range so as to not add much to a camera kit's price. The kit consists of the camera body, the lens, and various accessories usually necessary to get started in SLR photography. A kit lens can be sold by itself outside of a kit, particularly the ones that are moderately expensive; for instance a kit lens included in a prosumer SLR kit is often marketed as an upgrade lens for a consumer SLR. In addition, retailers often have promotions of standalone low-end SLR bodies without the lens, or a package that bundles the SLR body with one or two more expensive lenses.

In photography, through-the-lens (TTL) metering refers to a feature of cameras whereby the intensity of light reflected from the scene is measured through the lens; as opposed to using a separate metering window or external hand-held light meter. In some cameras various TTL metering modes can be selected. This information can then be used to set the optimal film or image sensor exposure, it can also be used to control the amount of light emitted by a flash unit connected to the camera.

The history of the single-lens reflex camera (SLR) begins with the use of a reflex mirror in a camera obscura described in 1676, but it took a long time for the design to succeed for photographic cameras: the first patent was granted in 1861, and the first cameras were produced in 1884 but while elegantly simple in concept, they were very complex in practice. Nikkormat

Nikkormat was a brand of cameras produced by the Japanese optics company Nippon Kogaku K. K., as a consumer version of the professional Nikon brand. Nikkormat cameras, produced from 1965 until 1978, were simpler and more affordable than Nikon-branded cameras, but accepted the same lenses as the Nikon F series cameras.
