Priyanka Thimmesh is an Indian actress who mainly works in Kannada films. She has also debuted in Malayalam and Tamil films. She made her debut in the 2015 Kannada film Ganapa.

Early life

Priyanka was born in Bhadravati, Karnataka to Thimmesh and Girija. She has an elder brother. Priyanka did her schooling at St. Charles High School, Bhadravathi and completed her Diploma in Computer Science at Government Woman's Polytechnic College Shivamogga.[ citation needed ]

Career

Priyanka started acting by taking on roles in serial Preethienda as Kashmiri girl Gulabi which was telecasted in Suvarna TV. She made her debut in films when she acted as Brunda, in Prabhu Srinivas's critically acclaimed Ganapa . She also did a guest appearance in Akira. It was followed by more lead roles in Pataki [1] with Ganesh and Joncena with Uthpal Kumar which is directed by Simple Suni. Priyanka is playing a lead role in upcoming film Bheema Sena Nala Maharaja directed by Karthik Saragur [2] and produced by Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah. Priyanka played a lead role in Nivin Pauly's Malayalam film Kayamkulam Kochunni [3] directed by Rosshan Andrrews. [4]

Kayamkulam Kochunni was a heroic outlaw from Kayamkulam, who lived during the late 19th century. He was active in the Travancore area in the present-day Kerala, India. He is said to have stolen from the rich and given to the poor. Legends on his life are part of the folklore of Kerala. His stories are often associated with his friend and fellow outlaw Ithikkara Pakki. A shrine dedicated to Kochunni exist in near Kozhencherry.

Kayamkulam Kochunni is a 2018 Indian Malayalam-language period action film directed by Rosshan Andrrews and written by Bobby & Sanjay. It is based on the life of Kayamkulam Kochunni, a famed highwayman who robbed from the rich and gave to the poor during the British Raj in the early 19th century Central Travancore. The film stars Nivin Pauly in the title role along with Mohanlal, Sunny Wayne and Babu Antony in supporting roles.

Ganapa is a 2015 Indian Kannada-language gangster film, written and directed by Prabhu Srinivas. It stars Santhosh Balaraj and Priyanka Thimmesh. The movie is based on incidents that took place in the Bangalore underworld and shares a similar plot of 2003 Kannada film Kariya. It has been dubbed by Pen Movies in Hindi as Daada Ka Vaada.
