Rosshan Andrrews (born 6 January 1975) is an Indian film director who mainly works in Malayalam cinema. [1] [2] [3]

Biography

Rosshan Andrrews was born to Burney and Moolakuzhi Nedumparampil Andrews in Thrissur. [4] He attended St. Aloysious Thrissur and Cochin College, Eranakulam. [2]

Personal life

Roshan is married to Ancy Joseph and the couple has three children: Anjelina, Ryan and Ana Bella. [2]

Career

His debut film was the 2005 Malayalam film Udayananu Tharam [5] [6] starring Mohanlal and Meena. After the success of the film, Rosshan Andrrews directed his next film in 2006 named Notebook . [7] [8] [9] The film had newcomers Mariya Roy, Parvathy, Roma and Skanda Ashok . [10]

He is working on his Hindi debut, Deva , starring Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde; with the story written by Bobby–Sanjay. It is produced by Roy Kapur Films and Zee Studios. [11]

Notebook is a 2006 Indian coming-of-age drama film directed by Rosshan Andrrews and written by Bobby-Sanjay. It is about three students at a boarding school, and how they face up to challenges in their lives. The film stars Maria Roy, Roma Asrani and Parvathy Thiruvothu while Skanda Ashok and Suresh Gopi play supporting roles. The film dealt with the subject of teenage pregnancy. It marked the debut of Roma and Skanda in Malayalam film industry.

The film was released on 17 May 2014. It received positive reviews from critics and was a major commercial success of the year at the box office. The movie was remade in Tamil as 36 Vayadhinile with Jyothika.

Kayamkulam Kochunni is a 2018 Indian Malayalam-language period action film directed by Rosshan Andrrews and written by Bobby & Sanjay. It is based on the life of Kayamkulam Kochunni, a famed highwayman who robbed from the rich and gave to the poor during the British Raj in the early 19th century Central Travancore. The film stars Mohanlal in an extended cameo as Ithikkara pakki along with Nivin Pauly in the title role as Kayamkulam Kochunni. It also features Priya Anand, Sunny Wayne and Babu Antony in supporting roles.

Deva is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Rosshan Andrrews and written by the duo Bobby–Sanjay, marking their debuts in Hindi cinema. The film stars Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde. It is produced by Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films.
