Project Malabaricus is an Indian independent music band from Kerala formed in 2017 by popular playback singer Sithara Krishnakumar. The band has been noted for exploring socially and culturally relevant narratives through their music. They have performed at over 250 stages, globally, since their inception. The band's debut indie project Rithu has the distinction to be the first album in Malayalam mixed in Dolby Atmos. [1]

Formation

Over the years Sithara Krishnakumar has collaborated with various popular musical bands in Kerala as well as collaborated in many stage shows, which include international shows as well. In 2014, she formed a musical band Eastraga, which focuses on a mix of female-oriented songs backed by a team of renowned musicians. [2] Following a series of successful performances and covers with Eastraga, Sithara formed Project Malabaricus in 2017 with Liboy Praisly Kripesh to explore the horizons her interest in folk and fusion. Project Malabaricus, the 6 member band, is an independent venture that features contemporarised folk and classical songs. Collaborating with popular lyricists in the Malayalam music industry, Project Malabaricus releases originals that also explore various pertinent narratives such as women empowerment, Malabar folklore, environmental conservation, human resilience and cultural diversity. Paliyath Jayachandran was an Indian playback singer and actor from Kerala. He collaborated with composers, G. Devarajan, M. S. Baburaj, V. Dakshinamoorthy, K. Raghavan, M. K. Arjunan, M. S. Viswanathan, Ilaiyaraaja, Koti, Shyam, A. R. Rahman, M. M. Keeravani, Vidyasagar and M Jayachandran. Over the course of his career, he recorded more than 16,000 songs in multiple languages and appeared in a few films.

The film was shot in Government Engineering College, Thrissur and Holy Trinity School, Kanjikode.

Tharangini Records is the music company founded by noted Indian Playback singer K. J. Yesudas in 1980 at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. It was the first recording and distributing music label in Kerala from where Malayalam film songs on audio cassettes came out. Other than Malayalam, Tharangni also released songs in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, English, Malay, Arabic, Russian and Latin. Tharangni release albums under various labels, Tharangni, Tharangni or Ayaan, Bharath Sangeeth, 9th Angel Records, Diva Records, V Records & Entertainment, Amplify More, all licensed or incorporated under Dr. K. <i>Celluloid</i> (film) 2013 film directed by Kamal

Celluloid is a 2013 Indian Malayalam-language biographical drama film co-produced, written, and directed by Kamal, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sreenivasan, Mamta Mohandas, and Chandni in the lead roles. The film is a biopic based on the life story of J.C. Daniel, the father of Malayalam cinema, the making of his film Vigathakumaran, and the story of Vigathakumaran's heroine P. K. Rosie. The film is particularly based on Life of J. C. Daniel, a biography of J. C. Daniel written by Chelangatt Gopalakrishnan. The filming started in November 2012, and the online posters were done by a 16-year-old boy, Aswin, which went viral on social media. It was released in February 2013. The film opened with positive reviews and received seven Kerala State Film Awards, including Best Film and Best Actor (Prithviraj). The movie received many awards and much appreciation with the support of All Lights Film Services (ALFS), a leading film festival consultancy. The film was a blockbuster at the box office.

Sithara Krishnakumar is an Indian playback singer, composer, lyricist, classical dancer and an occasional actor. She predominantly works in Malayalam cinema in addition to Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. Sithara is a well known singer who is trained in Hindustani and Carnatic classical music traditions and is also a recognised ghazal singer. She is the recipient of several awards which includes three Kerala State Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer.

Loham (transl. Metal) is a 2015 Indian Malayalam-language action thriller film written and directed by Ranjith, and produced by Antony Perumbavoor for the production company Aashirvad Cinemas. The film, starring Mohanlal, Renji Panicker, Siddique, Andrea Jeremiah and Ajmal Ameer is about an elusive smuggling operation and the mysterious disappearance of 100 kilograms (220 lb) of gold. Manu Manjith is an Indian lyricist and poet in Malayalam language. He is also doctor in Homeopathy Psychiatry. He began his film career with the Malayalam film Ohm Shanthi Oshaana in 2014. Since then, he has brought out many chart-toppers including "Neelambalin" from Oru Vadakkan Selfi to "Thiruvavaniraavu" from Jacobinte Swargarajyam. He is a frequent collaborator of Shaan Rahman since 2014. Presently he is working as a psychiatric consultant in Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College, Kulasekharam. He is popularly known as Doctor Lyricist.

Sivaangi Krishnakumar, also known as Sivaangi, is an Indian actress, playback singer and television personality. In 2019, she participated in the Tamil singing competition Super Singer 7, which aired on Star Vijay. In 2020, she appeared in the comedy-cooking show, Cooku With Comali, which gained her popularity. She is the daughter of Kalaimamani award-winners Dr. K. Krishnakumar and Binni Krishnakumar. She has acted in films such as Don (2022), Naai Sekar Returns (2022) and Shot Boot Three (2023). She made her debut as a singer in the Tamil film Pasanga (2012) with the song "Anbaale Azhagana Veedu".

Febin Joseph better known by his stage name Fejo, is an Indian rapper, singer and songwriter from Kerala who started his solo career professionally in 2009. Rapping in Malayalam, Fejo has worked with music composers including Raftaar, Sushin Shyam, Deepak Dev, Shaan Rahman, Jakes Bejoy, Rahul Raj. He is considered one of the pioneers of Malayalam Rap, noted for his socio political themes & commercially performing tracks.

Kumbalangi Nights is the soundtrack album for the 2019 Malayalam-language drama film of the same name. The film, directed by Madhu C. Narayanan in his directorial debut, features musical score composed by Sushin Shyam with the soundtrack accompanied for the film has seven songs in number. The Malayalam lyrics were penned by Anwar Ali and Vinayak Sasikumar, while the English songs featured in the album were penned by Nezer Ahamed, Shyam's bandmate in The Down Troddence rock musical band. Shyam, Sithara Krishnakumar, Sooraj Santhosh, Anne Amie, Kezia Quintal (K.Zia), Akhil Unnikrishnan a.k.a. AKEL and Yadav gave vocals for the tracks featured in the album.
