Noctuoidea is the superfamily of noctuid or "owlet" moths, and has more than 70,000 described species, the largest number of any Lepidopteran superfamily. Its classification has not yet reached a satisfactory or stable state. Since the end of the 20th century, increasing availability of molecular phylogenetic data for this hugely successful radiation has led to several competing proposals for a taxonomic arrangement that correctly represents the relationships between the major lineages.
Graphium is a genus of mostly tropical swallowtail butterflies commonly known as swordtails, kite swallowtails, or ladies. Native to Eurasia, Africa, and Oceania, the genus is represented by over 100 species. Their colouration is as variable as the habitats they frequent; from rainforest to savannah. Some possess tails which may be long and swordlike, while others lack any hindwing extensions. Graphium species are often sighted at mud puddles.
Biblidinae is a subfamily of nymphalid butterflies that includes the tropical brushfoots. This subfamily was sometimes merged within the Limenitidinae, but they are now recognized as quite distinct lineages. In older literature, this subfamily is sometimes called Eurytelinae.
Eurema is a widespread genus of grass yellow butterflies in the family Pieridae.
The Calpinae are a subfamily of moths in the family Erebidae described by Jean Baptiste Boisduval in 1840. This subfamily includes many species of moths that have a pointed and barbed proboscis adapted to piercing the skins of fruit to feed on juice, and in the case of the several Calyptra species of vampire moths, to piercing the skins of mammals to feed on blood. The subfamily contains some large moths with wingspans longer than 5 cm (2 in).
Ticheville is a commune in the Orne department in north-western France.
Dilophonotini is a tribe of moths of the family Sphingidae described by Hermann Burmeister in 1878.
Macroglossini is a tribe of moths of the family Sphingidae described by Thaddeus William Harris in 1839.
Xylophanes is a genus of moths in the family Sphingidae erected by Jacob Hübner in 1819. As of 2000, there are about 96 species and subspecies included in the genus.
Macroglossum is a genus of moths in the family Sphingidae. The genus was erected by Giovanni Antonio Scopoli in 1777.
The Sesiinae are a subfamily of clearwing moths, identified by Jean Baptiste Boisduval in 1828.
Psichotoe cingulata is a moth in the subfamily Arctiinae. It was described by Sergius G. Kiriakoff in 1963. It is found in Guinea.
Psichotoe duvaucelii is a moth in the subfamily Arctiinae. It was described by Jean Baptiste Boisduval in 1829. It is found in India and Myanmar.
Psichotoe rubridorsata is a moth in the subfamily Arctiinae. It was described by Emilio Berio in 1941 and is found in Uganda.
The Syntomini are a tribe of moths in the family Erebidae. The tribe was erected by Gottlieb August Wilhelm Herrich-Schäffer in 1846.
