Bo District is a district in the Southern Province of Sierra Leone. It is one of the sixteen Districts of Sierra Leone. Bo District is the fourth most populous District in Sierra Leone. Its capital and largest city is the city of Bo, which is the third most populous city in Sierra Leone. other major towns in the district include Baoma, Bumpeh, Serabu, Sumbuya, Baiima and Yele.
Abass Chernor Bundu is a Sierra Leonean politician, diplomat, and the current Speaker of the Sierra Leone House of Parliament, in office since April 25, 2018. Bundu was elected speaker by receiving 70 votes in Parliament. The main opposition the All People's Congress, which won the most seats in Parliament, boycotted the election process in protest and did not nominate a candidate for speaker Archived 26 April 2018 at the Wayback Machine. He was a member of the National Electoral Commission in the recent general election held on August 11, and September 17, 2007.

He was born in Bo to a Mende mother from Segbwema, Kailahun District and a Sierra Leonean-Lebanese father. He is only the second Sierra Leonean-Lebanese person to be elected to one of the top ministerial positions in the national government of Sierra Leone.
