Pollywood or Punjabi cinema refers to the Punjabi-language film industry centered around the Indian state of Punjab, and based in Amritsar, Ludhiana, and Mohali.
Gurpreet Singh Waraich, commonly known as Gurpreet Ghuggi, is an Indian actor, comedian and politician. He is known for his works in Punjabi and Hindi films. Ghuggi began his career by acting in theatre in the early 1990s, after which he had recurring roles in television series such as Ronak Mela and the soap opera Parchhaven. Jaswinder Bhalla is an Indian actor and comedian who works in Punjabi cinema. He started his professional career as a comedian in 1988 with Chhankata 88 and became an actor with film Dulla Bhatti. He is best known for his comedy series Chhankata and comedy roles in various Punjabi films. He is famous for always using taglines in his movies, and bringing a comic touch to movies through them. He also performs in stage acts and has done tours of Canada and Australia for his stage show Naughty Baba in Town.
Carry On Jatta is a 2012 Indian Punjabi comedy film directed by Smeep Kang and starring Gippy Grewal, and Mahie Gill. The film released on 27 July 2012. This film was remade in Odia in 2015 as Pilata Bigidigala, in Telugu in 2016 as Eedo Rakam Aado Rakam, in Bangladesh (Bengali) in 2017 as Dhat Teri Ki and in Bengali (India) in 2019 as Jamai Badal.

Mar Gaye Oye Loko is a 2018 Indian-Punjabi language Comedy film directed by Simerjit Singh starring Gippy Grewal, Binnu Dhillon & Sapna Pabbi in lead roles. It is a Punjabi comedy about a simple boy, Tittu, and his journey to finally marry the girl of his dreams, Simran. She in turn happens to be interested in the local gangster, Gill Baiji. Gill Baiji gets shot by his arch rival Sidhu and this event changes Tittu's fate forever. The film has Jaswinder Bhalla, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Karamjit Anmol, B.N. Sharma and Jaggi Singh in supporting roles; it marked the Punjabi debut for Sapna Pabbi.
Afsar (transl. Officer) is a 2018 Indian Punjabi film directed by Gulshan Singh, starring Tarsem Jassar, Nimrat Khaira, Gurpreet Ghuggi and Karamjit Anmol. The film is based on the concept that Kanungo is a higher post than Patwari, but higher respect is given to the Patwari rather than Kanungo. Yaar Jigree Kasooti Degree is an Indian Punjabi-language comedy-drama web-series created by Rabby Tiwana.
