Punjab FC Reserves and Academy are the youth teams of Punjab FC, originally based in Mohali, Punjab.

RoundGlass Punjab FC was incorporated after the Roundglass Sports Pvt. Ltd. acquired 100% ownership stake of Punjab FC in 2020. Club's youth section was at first incorporated from Minerva Academy FC players, known as one of best national football academies for years.

The 2022–23 I-League was the 16th season of I-League, first as the second tier of Indian football league system. It was played from 12 November 2022 to 12 March 2023.

The 2022–23 season was the eighteenth season in RoundGlass Punjab FC's existence, and their seventh consecutive season in I-League. This season of the I-League witnessed the return of the home-away format of the matches similar to that of the 2019–20 I-League season after a break of two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
