Puppala Srinivasarao (born 1969), alias Vasubabu, [1] is an Indian politician from Andhra Pradesh. [2] He is an MLA of YSR Congress Party from Unguturu Assembly Constituency in West Godavari District. [3] He won the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election. [4] He is nominated by YSR Congress Party to contest the Unguturu seat in the 2024 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election. [5] [6]

Early life and education

Srinivasarao was born in Bhuvvanapalli village, Nidamarru mandal, West Godavari district. His father is Hema Sundara Venkata Ramana. [1] He did his schooling in Zilla Parishad High School in Ganapavaram and completed his intermediate, the pre-university course, at Chintalapati Bapiraju Junior College in Ganapavaram. He is a businessman. [1] Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy attended his daughter's wedding in August 2021. [7]

Career

Srinivasarao won the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election representing YSR Congress Party from Unguturu Assembly Constituency defeating Ganni Veeranjaneyulu of Telugu Desam Party by a margin of 33,153 votes. [8] [9] He is reportedly facing a lot of anti-incumbency in the constituency. [10]

Golla Babu Rao is an Indian politician, currently serving as Rajya Sabha member representing YSR Congress Party. He also served as APPSC Group I officer. Before entering politics, Babu Rao worked as a Joint Commissioner of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development in Hyderabad, Telangana. He was elected thrice to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Payakaraopet. He contested for 2009, 2014, 2019 and one by election 2012, except 2014 he won all the remaining three elections. On 20 February 2024, he was unanimously elected to the Rajya Sabha as a YSR Congress Party candidate along with Y. V. Subba Reddy and Meda Raghunath Reddy.
