Aminata Sylla [1] better known by her ring-name Queen Aminata is a Guinean professional wrestler currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). She also performs in AEW's sister promotion Ring of Honor (ROH). She is known for time in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), and on the American independent circuit. [2] [3] [4] It was reported in January 2024 that she was signed full-time to AEW. [5] [6]

Early life

Sylla has stated she immigrated from Guinea to the United States in April 2013, [1] [7] having previously lived and studied in Paris, France. [7] While there, Sylla studied private international law and was qualified to practice in France. [8]

Professional wrestling career

Early career (2017–2020)

Aminata made her debut in 2017, wrestling largely on the independent circuit in Ohio. On April 30, 2017, she wrestled at a WWE house show teaming with Kaylee, losing to Asuka and Kairi Sane. In 2020 she wrestled in Japan for various promotions including Sendai Girls. [9]

All Elite Wrestling / Ring of Honor (2021–present)

On April 7, 2021, she made her All Elite Wrestling (AEW) debut on AEW Dark , teaming with Amber Nova, losing to Big Swole and Red Velvet. She made her television debut on November 23, 2022, on AEW Rampage , losing to Hikaru Shida. At Holiday Bash on December 20, 2023, she was defeated by Skye Blue. [10] She made her Ring of Honor (ROH) debut on December 23, 2023, defeating Maya World. [11] [12]

On January 3, 2024, she made her AEW Dynamite debut, losing to newcomer Mariah May. [13] She lost a match to veteran Hikaru Shida on January 12 [14] and to Kris Statlander, a week later. [15] That same week professional wrestling news-site Fightful reported that Aminata had been signed to a full-time contract with the company. [5] [6] She subsequently lost to former mixed martial artist Thunder Rosa on January 20. [16] On the February 16, 2024 edition of AEW Rampage, Aminata gained her first victory in AEW by defeating Anna Jay. Following the match it was announced that Aminata was officially signed to the company. [17]

On February 10, 2024's episode of Ring of Honor, Queen Aminata entered the inaugural ROH Women's World Television Championship tournament [18] and defeated J–Rod in the first round to advance. [19] On the February 24th episode of Ring of Honor, Queen Aminata defeated Taya Valkyrie in the second round. [20] On the March 16, 2024th tapings of ROH during the semifinals of the tournament Queen Amanita defeated Red Velvet. [21]

Personal life

Sylla has stated she is a polyglot who can speak four languages: French, English, Susu and Fulani. [22] In her private life, Sylla is a Muslim as well as a mother. [8]
