Rick Knox (born 1970) is an American professional wrestling referee signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), [1] and has previously worked for Pro Wrestling Guerilla [2] and the National Wrestling Alliance. [3] [4]

Career

Knox began his career on the independent circuit, notably with Pro Wrestling Guerilla, and also refereed for the inaugural All In event that led to the creation of All Elite Wrestling. [5] He made his AEW debut during the first pay-per-view, on May 25, 2019, at Double or Nothing [6]

On September 20, 2023, at AEW Grand Slam, Knox refereed an AEW International Championship match between Jon Moxley and Rey Fenix. [7] During the match Moxley suffered a concussion and rather than counting to three and ending the match, he instead allowed Fenix to perform a second piledriver on Moxley before ending the match. [8] [9] [10]

The 2022 Full Gear was the fourth annual Full Gear professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). It took place on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, marking AEW's first PPV to be held in the Tri-State area. The event also saw Saraya's return to wrestling and first match since December 2017, as well as the return of The Elite following their suspension as a result of an altercation that occurred during the All Out post-event media scrum.

The Blackpool Combat Club (BCC) is a professional wrestling stable performing in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), and Ring of Honor (ROH). Formed in 2022, its name derives from the town where English wrestling personality William Regal—the group's creator and initial manager—began his career. The group was originally a tag team managed by Regal and consisting of American wrestlers Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley, who were later joined by American wrestler Wheeler Yuta and Swiss wrestler Claudio Castagnoli. Regal left AEW in November 2022, but the group continues to use its original name in honor of him. They are noted for their gimmick of targeting those they believe are not dedicated enough to professional wrestling, seeing extreme violence as a beautiful thing or a rite of passage, outnumbering their opponents, stabbing them with screwdrivers, and spilling blood during their matches.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">AEW Grand Slam</span> All Elite Wrestling television special series

AEW Grand Slam is an annual professional wrestling television special produced by the American promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Established in 2021, the event airs in two parts, first as a special episode of the promotion's flagship weekly television program, Wednesday Night Dynamite, then as a special episode of their secondary weekly program, Friday Night Rampage. The show is distributed by Warner Bros. Discovery, which AEW's broadcast partners, TBS and TNT, are also part of. The event is held annually at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York in late September. The inaugural event was also AEW's first event to take place entirely within a stadium as well as the promotion's first event held in New York City.

The 2022 Grand Slam was the second annual Grand Slam professional wrestling television special produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). It took place on September 21, 2022, at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in the Queens borough of New York City. The two-part event was broadcast as special episodes of AEW's weekly television programs, Wednesday Night Dynamite and Friday Night Rampage. Dynamite aired live on TBS while Rampage aired on tape delay on September 23 on TNT and was expanded to two hours for the Grand Slam special.
