The Beast Mortos (born March 11, 1987), also known by his former ring name Black Taurus, is a Mexican luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler. He is signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he is a member of La Faccion Ingobernable. He also works in their sister company Ring of Honor (ROH).

He is also known for his work for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA), International Wrestling Revolution Group, Lucha Libre Elite, The Crash Lucha Libre, Impact Wrestling, Major League Wrestling (MLW), Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) as well as on the Mexican and independent circuit.

Professional wrestling career

Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (2008–2011)

After wrestling for years in the Torreón area under the name Semental, he would move to Mexico City in 2008. After a short stint with International Wrestling Revolution Group, he would start working in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre in March 2008. He wrestled regularly for CMLL for over three years, generally working opening matches that rarely made TV. He had his last match for the promotion on June 28, 2011, and then showed up in AAA two days later. [1]

Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (2012–2016)

He made his AAA debut June 30 in Tizayuca, still under the name Semental. He would have two more TV matches for the promotion in 2011. [2]

In mid-2012 AAA introduced a new masked trio known as Los Inferno Rockers [3] (Machine Rocker, Devil Rocker and Soul Rocker), a trio of masked, glam-rocker inspired wrestlers who resembled the rock band Kiss. [4] [5] It was later verified that the former Tito Santana was under the Soul Rocker mask. The trio was set up as the rivals of Los Psycho Circus (Psycho Clown, Murder Clown and Monster Clown), who at the time had been undefeated for years. They later introduced the 201 cm (6 ft 7 in) tall Uro Rocker to the team, targeting Psycho Clown specifically. [6] It was later revealed that Uro Rocker was supposed to be the main rival of Psycho Clown, but the wrestler playing the part hurt wrestlers he worked with and was quickly dropped from the group. [7]

The group lost to Los Psycho Circus at the 2012 Guerra de Titanes show, their first appearance at a major AAA show. [8] 18 days later the trio wrestled International Wrestling Revolution Group's Los Oficiales (Oficial 911, Oficial AK-47 and Oficial Fierro) in one of the featured matches on the Arena Naucalpan 35th Anniversary Show when the match ended in a double pinfall. [9] In early 2013 Los Inferno Rockers finally defeated Los Psycho Circus, gaining some momentum in their ongoing feud. [10] They repeated the feat at the 2012 Rey de Reyes show, seemingly escalating their feud towards a Lucha de Apuestas , or "bet match" where the teams would put their masks on the line. [11] [12] The Apuestas match never happened and Los Inferno Rockers were soon diverted from Los Psycho Circus. In later 2013 Devil Rocker left AAA and was replaced by Demon Rocker to remain a trio. [13] a member of the Los Inferno Rockers stable. [14] The team was phased out throughout 2014, with Demon Rocker taking over the "La Parka Negra" character. By early 2015 Machine Rocker no longer appeared on AAA shows either. On October 4, 2015, Machine Rocker was repackaged and introduced as "Taurus", signaling the end of Los Inferno Rockers as a unit won a Royal Rumble Lumberjack match to win the Copa Antonio Peña. [15]

On September 10, 2016, Taurus announced his departure from AAA.

Lucha Libre Elite (2016)

Taurus debut as Black Tauro with Lucha Libre Elite teaming with Cibernetico and Sharlie Rockstar was defeated by Decnis, Mr. Aguila and Zumbido. [16] On November 10, Tauro teaming with Rey Escorpión defeat L.A. Park and Mr. Aguila. [17]

Return to AAA (2018–2024)

On June 1, 2018, Taurus returned to the AAA after helping to retain the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship of Faby Apache, in front of Ashley. [18] On August 10, 2019, Taurus lost a title match for the AAA Mega Championship to champion Fénix, the match also included Laredo Kid and Puma King.

On January 11, 2024, Taurus announced that he had departed AAA for a second time and was now a free agent. [19]

Impact Wrestling (2019)

Due to AAA's alliance with American promotion Impact Wrestling, Taurus made a special appearance on the February 1, 2019 edition of Impact Wrestling, which was taped January 11–12, 2019, at Mexico City's Frontón México Entertainment Center, teaming with Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Fénix) defeated The Latin American Exchange (Ortiz and Santana) and Daga. Major League Wrestling (2019)

On March 2, 2019, at MLW Fusion , Taurus made his debut in Major League Wrestling teaming with Laredo Kid, losing to Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix). [21]

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (2019–present)

On July 26, 2019, at the "SIXTEEN" event, Taurus made his debut at Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), losing with Laredo Kid and Puma King against Mexablood (Bandido and Flamita) and Rey Horus.

Return to Impact (2021–2024)

On the February 9, 2021 edition of Impact Wrestling , Taurus made his return to Impact Wrestling on a more regular basis, when Rosemary and Crazzy Steve introduced him as the newest member of their stable Decay, soon afterwards picking up a quick victory over Kaleb with a K. [22]

All Elite Wrestling / Ring of Honor (2023–present)

On December 15, 2023, at Final Battle, Taurus made his Ring of Honor (ROH) debut, challenging El Hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship in a losing effort. On the December 22 episode of AEW Rampage , Taurus made his debut for the sister company of ROH, All Elite Wrestling (AEW). He once again challenged Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship in a losing effort. On January 18, 2024, Luchablog reported that Taurus had signed with AEW, however he will not be able to use the "Black Taurus" name or character as AAA owned the gimmick. [23] On April 5 at Supercard of Honor Zero Hour, Taurus returned to ROH, now wearing a new mask and under the new ring name The Beast Mortos, defeating Blake Christian. [24] On the April 27 edition of AEW Collision, Mortos made his AEW debut under his new character, in a losing effort against Rey Fénix. [25] On the Collision edition of Grand Slam on September 28, Mortos was defeated by Hologram in a three-way match, also involving Dralístico. After the match, Mortos joined forces with Dralístico and Rush to attack Hologram, joining the reformed La Facción Ingobernable in the process. This led to a 2 out of 3 falls match between Mortos and Hologram at WrestleDream on October 12, which Mortos lost 1–2. On November 24, Mortos was announced as a participant in the 2024 Continental Classic, where he was placed in the Blue league. [26] Mortos finished the tournament with 0 points and failed to advance to the semi-finals.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">AAA World Cruiserweight Championship</span> Professional wrestling championship

The AAA World Cruiserweight Championship is a professional wrestling championship contested for in the Mexican lucha libre promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). The championship cannot be competed for by anyone who is over the Cruiserweight division weight limit of 105 kg (231 lb). Traditionally this division is labelled as the "Junior Heavyweight" division in Mexico while "Cruiserweight" is a term more used in the United States or Canada.

Murder Clown is the ring name of a Mexican luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler, signed to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). Murder Clown's ring character is that of a nightmarish clown and he is part of Los Psycho Circus along with Monster Clown and Psycho Clown. Murder Clown's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept secret from the wrestling fans.

Psycho Clown is the ring name of a Mexican luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler, signed to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). Psycho Clown's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from wrestling fans. Part of the Alvarado wrestling family, he is the son of José Alvarado Nieves, who wrestled under the ring name Brazo de Plata, and has previously worked as Brazo de Plata Jr. in tribute to his father. His siblings, Máximo, Goya Kong, and Muñeca de Plata are also professional wrestlers.

Ignacio Patiño, better known under the ring names Soul Rocker and Tito Santana is a Mexican luchador, or professional wrestler, currently working for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). He is the son of retired luchador Kendor and actually worked as Kendor II early in his career. From 2005 through 2012, he used the name Tito Santana, although he is not related to the better-known Tito Santana. He began using the name again in 2017 after losing his mask. As Soul Rocker he wore wrestling gear reminiscent of the elaborate stage costumes of the rock group Kiss.

Triplemanía Regia II was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event that was promoted and produced by the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). The event was originally scheduled to take place on October 10, 2020 but was postponed and later cancelled on November 30 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, on October 18, 2021, AAA announced that the event would be occurring on December 4 at the Estadio de Béisbol Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. It marked the 29th year in a row that AAA has held a Triplemanía show, and the 36th overall show held under the Triplemanía banner since 1993. The annual Triplemanía show is AAA's biggest event of the year, serving as the culmination of major storylines in what has been described as AAA's version of WrestleMania or their Super Bowl event. The event aired on PPV via FITE TV in the U.S. and in Mexico on Space and TV Azteca.

He was best known for his appearances in the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) which he had worked for from 1992 to 2009 and again from 2012 to 2013. As Picudo, Hernández was a member of Los Vatos Locos, a Kiss look-alike group of wrestlers, with whom he held the Mexican National Atómicos Championship. In 2012, he returned to AAA under the ring name Devil Rocker, with who he was introduced as part of a group called Los Inferno Rockers. As both Picudo and Devil Rocker, Hernández wore wrestling gear reminiscent of the elaborate stage costumes of the rock group Kiss.
