Los Perros del Mal (English: The Dogs of Evil) was a Mexican Lucha libre wrestling group stable, originally competed in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre and in Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA). The name (meaning "The Dogs of Evil") is a play on the name of the founder of the group, Perro Aguayo Jr. It was one of the main rudo (heel) stables in CMLL until October 2008, when Aguayo along with Mr. Águila and Damián 666 left the company to form Perros del Mal Producciones . The stable is a part of the new promotion, despite its namesake. Their motto is "Dios perdona, los Perros no" ("God forgives, the Dogs don't."). The group originally started under the name La Furia del Norte but evolved into Los Perros del Mal as wrestlers not from northern Mexico joined the group.

History

La Furia del Norte

For the summer of 2004, the main storyline feud in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) was the heel trio of Pierroth Jr., Vampiro Canadiense and Tarzan Boy feuding with the técnico or face trio of Negro Casas, Shocker and Perro Aguayo Jr. The two factions finally faced off in a six-man cage match on July 18, 2004 where the last man in the cage got his head shaved. The rudos quickly escaped and Shocker tricked Casas and made his own escape, leaving Casas and Perro Aguayo Jr. Aguayo was victorious and Negro Casas, who had acted like a mentor for a time before this, had his head shaved leading to hostility. [2]

The feud continued but soon Vampiro was injured in a match against the original Máscara Sagrada and was replaced by Héctor Garza, who had just jumped from Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA), in a trios match at Arena México. Over the next few weeks, Perro turned on Casas and joined Garza. [2] Soon Tarzan Boy from Los Guerreros del Infierno joined with Perro explaining that he and Garza could only trust other northerners. From that comment the name La Furia del Norte (Spanish for "The Northern Fury") was born as they all hailed from northern Mexico. [2] Tarzan Boy and Héctor Garza hailed from Monterrey, Nuevo León and Perro Aguayo Jr. claims his father's Zacatecas as his home state, although he was born in Mexico City. A few weeks later one last Northerner joined the group, El Terrible, who had just turned on Shocker. The group's cowardly and suave antics made them an entertaining combination and they quickly rivaled Los Guerreros as the top heel group in CMLL. [2]

After losing a match for the CMLL 71st Anniversary Show trophy to Negro Casas, Perro moved onto a short but heated feud with El Hijo del Santo with La Furia playing back-up. [3] Shortly afterwards, Garza, Terrible and Tarzan began chasing the CMLL World Trios Championship, eventually defeating Black Warrior, Rayo de Jalisco Jr. and El Canek in November. [2] Perrito joined forces with his former rivals Pierroth and Vampiro in their feud against Los Capos, ending at the year-end show when Pierroth and Vampiro lost their hair to Cien Caras and Máscara Año 2000 and Perro lost to Universo 2000 via disqualification in a singles match. [2] The group's future was put in question when Garza was arrested in the United States with illegal steroids.

Los Perros del Mal

Perro still continued to feud with Los Capos and he used La Furia against them up until the big Perro Aguayo and Perro Aguayo Jr. versus Cien Caras and Máscara Año 2000 double hair match in March of that year. After Aguayo and his father were successful, Aguayo decided to start a new group consisting of La Furia del Norte, La Familia de Tijuana and other rudos called Los Perros del Mal. After the formation of Los Perros, the name "La Furia del Norte" referred only to the trio of Tarzan Boy, Terrible and Garza. [4]

Latin Lover appeared as a member at Arena Mexico with Garza and Perro Jr. He wore the Perros del Mal shirt, and though it was only an appearance, was considered a member of the stable.

AAA Invasion

On June 6, 2010, at AAA's biggest event of the year, Triplemanía XVIII, Los Perros del Mal started an invasion storyline with the promotion. [5] While many Perros del Mal Producciones workers have since made appearances in AAA, Perro Aguayo Jr., Damián 666, Halloween and L.A. Park are the four main members representing the stable in the company. Los Perros del Mal quickly aligned themselves with other rudo stables La Legión Extranjera , La Milicia and Los Maniacos to form La Sociedad , under the leadership of Dorian Roldan. [6] [7] On December 5, 2010, in the main event of Guerra de Titanes Dámian 666, Halloween and X-Fly achieved a major feat by ending Los Psycho Circus 's three-year-long undefeated streak in a steel cage weapons match, albeit after an interference from Perro Aguayo Jr. [8] The feud between Los Perros del Mal and Los Psycho Circus continued on May 29 at Perros del Mal Producciones' third anniversary show, where Los Psycho Circus was victorious in a six man tag team steel cage Masks vs. Hairs match and, as a result, Super Crazy, the last man left in the cage, was forced to have his head shaved bald. [9] On June 18 at Triplemanía XIX, Damián 666, Halloween and X-Fly defeated Los Psycho Circus in a tournament final to become the first ever AAA World Trios Champions. [10] On July 31 at Verano de Escándalo , Los Perros del Mal faced Los Psycho Circus in a steel cage match, where the last person left in the cage would lose either his hair or mask. The match ended with Psycho Clown escaping the cage, leaving X-Fly inside and forcing him to have his hair shaved off. [11] Los Perros del Mal and Los Psycho Circus ended their year long rivalry on October 9 at Héroes Inmortales, where Damián 666, Halloween and Nicho el Millonario were defeated in a Masks vs. Hairs steel cage match and were all shaved bald. [12] On November 11, 2011, former member and reigning CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Héctor Garza jumped from CMLL to Perros del Mal Producciones to re-join the group. [13] Shortly afterwards, El Texano Jr. also left CMLL and joined Los Perros del Mal, along with his brother Super Nova, though this partnership was short-lived as El Texano Jr. went on to form rival group, El Consejo. [14] On March 11, 2012, Los Perros del Mal lost the AAA World Trios Championship to Los Psycho Circus. [15] The following day, Damián 666, his son Bestia 666, Halloween and X-Fly announced that they had quit Los Perros del Mal. [16] [17] Halloween ended up returning to the group the following month, while the other vacant spots were filled by Taya Valkyrie, Teddy Hart, Trauma I and Trauma II. [18] [19] [20] In mid-2013, El Hijo del Perro Aguayo began showing signs of a técnico turn by forming a new partnership with former rival Cibernético, which eventually led to Los Perros del Mal members Daga and Psicosis turning on their leader on November 22. [21] [22] Aguayo quickly announced that Daga and Psicosis' betrayal would not mark the end of Los Perros del Mal and that he would soon introduce a new incarnation of the stable. [23] However, on December 8 at Guerra de Titanes , Aguayo, Daga and Psicosis revealed they had played Cibernético, when Aguayo turned on him and brought Los Perros del Mal back under the umbrella of the reformed La Sociedad. [24] On February 21, 2014, longtime CMLL wrestler Black Warrior made a surprise return to AAA as the newest member of Los Perros del Mal. [25] Daga left Los Perros del Mal on April 19 to lead the Anarquía stable. [26]

On March 21, 2015, Aguayo died following a freak accident during a wrestling match, throwing the stable's future into question. [27] While Pentagón Jr. and Taya continued representing Los Perros del Mal in AAA events following Aguayo's death, [28] Joe Líder stated that the group's future was still uncertain. [29] In January 2017, Daga, Garza Jr. and Pentagón Jr. all quit AAA and made an appearance for The Crash promotion, wearing Los Perros del Mal gear. The current status of the group is uncertain. [30] Daga and Pentagón Jr. had hopes they would be able to continue using the name Los Perros del Mal on the independent circuit with Garza Jr. as a new member, but on January 24 they instead announced they were leaving the group. Pedro Aguayo Ramírez was a Mexican professional wrestler and promoter who achieved fame in wrestling as Perro Aguayo Jr. or El Hijo del Perro Aguayo. He was the real-life son of lucha libre legend Perro Aguayo and not a storyline "Junior". Aguayo was best known as the leader of the Los Perros del Mal stable, which he started in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) in mid-2004. The stable became a significant draw in Mexican professional wrestling, peaking during Aguayo's storyline rivalries with Místico and Héctor Garza. In October 2008, Aguayo left CMLL to start his own independent professional wrestling promotion Perros del Mal Producciones, built around members of his Los Perros del Mal stable. In June 2010, Aguayo returned to AAA after a seven-year absence to start an invasion storyline involving his stable.

Leonardo Carrera Gómez is a Mexican professional wrestler best known under the name Damián 666. He has worked for World Championship Wrestling (WCW), Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling (FMW), Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA), World Wrestling Association (WWA) and various promotions on the Mexican independent circuit, including Perros del Mal Producciones (PdM). Carrera also worked under the ring name Galaxy in WCW, a masked Luchador. Perros del Mal Producciones, often referred to as just 'Perros del Mal', was a Mexican professional wrestling promotion founded in October 2007 by Perro Aguayo, Jr. when he left Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre and became inactive around 2015. The promotion shared a name with Aguayo, Jr.'s wrestling stable (group) Los Perros del Mal and the stable is the main Rudo (villain) group in the promotion. The promotion had an "open door policy" which meant they did not generally have wrestlers under contract but hired them on a per appearance basis. Perros del Mal was also a booking agency, responsible for hiring the core Perros del Mal group and others to various independent promotions all over Mexico.

<i>Los Psycho Circus</i> Professional wrestling stable

Los Psycho Circus is a Lucha libre, or professional wrestling, trio who worked for the Mexico City based Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA) as a rudo team. The trio consists of three enmascarado, or masked, wrestlers known under the ring names Psycho Clown, Monster Clown and Murder Clown. They are former two-time AAA World Trios Champions and were also the last holders of the Mexican National Atómicos Championship with Chessman. Los Psycho Circus is most known for an exaggerated undefeated streak since their debut in 2007, they are announced as having won over 600 matches. The streak came to an end in December 2010.

Murder Clown is the ring name of a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler currently signed to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). Murder Clown's ring character is that of a nightmarish clown and he is part of Los Psycho Circus along with Monster Clown and Psycho Clown. Murder Clown's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans.

<i>Verano de Escándalo</i> (2011) 2011 Lucha Libre AAA World Wide event

Verano de Escándalo (2011) was a major professional wrestling event produced by the AAA promotion, which took place on July 31, 2011, at the Plaza Nuevo Progreso in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The title of the event, which has been AAA's annual summer show since 1997, is Spanish for "Summer of Scandal". The event featured seven matches with the main event featuring Los Perros del Mal and Los Psycho Circus facing each other in a Hair vs. Mask Lucha de Apuestas steel cage match, continuing the storyline rivalry, which started in October 2010. The event also featured Jeff Jarrett defending the AAA Mega Championship against Dr. Wagner Jr. and L.A. Park. The event took place only six weeks and four television tapings after Triplemanía XIX, an abnormally short amount of time between two major AAA events; for example there would be ten weeks between Verano de Escándalo and the following major event, Héroes Inmortales. Subsequently, AAA made the decision not to make the event a pay-per-view.

Juan Francisco Domínguez is a Mexican luchador or professional wrestler, currently performing under the ring name X-Fly. He is also known as the original Mosco de la Merced, a name which has since been given another luchador. He is best known for his stints with the AAA promotion, the latest while representing Los Perros del Mal.

Leornardo Carrera Lizarraga is a Mexican luchador or professional wrestler, better known by the ring name Bestia 666. He is currently working for various promotions across Mexico, while also performing in the United States for several California-based promotions. Bestia 666's father is professional wrestler Leonardo Carrera, who performs as Damián 666 and who inspired his son's current character. He is the current leader of La Rebelión Amarilla. He is a two time NWA World Tag Team Champion.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Triplemanía XX</span> 2012 Lucha Libre AAA World Wide event

Triplemanía XX was a professional wrestling event scripted and produced by the AAA promotion, which took place on August 5, 2012, at Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City, Mexico. The event was the twentieth annual Triplemanía, which is AAA's biggest show of the year, and marked AAA's debut in the new Arena Ciudad de México. The event was headlined by a match between Dr. Wagner Jr. and Máscara Año 2000 Jr., where the loser was forced to unmask himself. In the semi-main event, El Mesías defended the AAA Mega Championship against the 2012 Rey de Reyes, El Hijo del Perro Aguayo. The event also featured Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) performer Kurt Angle's AAA debut and an induction into the AAA Hall of Fame. This event marked the first time in four years that a Triplemanía was not broadcast live on pay-per-view. Instead, the event would be broadcast in three parts on AAA's official website, starting August 19. The event was attended by 21,000 people, the largest crowd for a professional wrestling event in Mexico in almost five years.

<i>Héroes Inmortales</i> (2011) 2011 Lucha Libre AAA World Wide event

Héroes Inmortales (2011) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by the AAA promotion, which took place on October 9, 2011, at Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, commemorating the fifth anniversary of the death of AAA founder Antonio Peña. While the two previous Peña memorial shows were labeled with the Roman numerals III and IV, the 2011 event was simply known as Héroes Inmortales. The main attraction of the event was the Mexican debut of Sting, who took part in the ongoing storyline invasion of wrestlers from American promotion Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). TNA performers Abyss, Jeff Jarrett, Magnus and Velvet Sky also took part in the event. Other matches taking place at the event included the fifth annual Copa Antonio Peña, Dr. Wagner Jr. defending the AAA Latin American Championship against El Hijo del Perro Aguayo and the culmination of the yearlong rivalry between Los Perros del Mal and Los Psycho Circus in a Lucha de Apuestas Masks vs. Hairs match, at the end of which one team would be either forced to unmask or have their heads shaved.

Rey de Reyes was a professional wrestling event produced by the AAA promotion, which took place on March 18, 2012, at Auditorio Benito Juárez in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. The event was the 16th event produced under the Rey de Reyes name and also the 16th time that the Rey de Reyes tournament was held.

The Guerra de Empresas always features wrestlers from two or more promotions wrestling against each other in a tournament.

Triplemanía XXIV was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced and scripted by the Mexican professional wrestling promotionLucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA). The event took place on August 28, 2016, and was held in the Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City, Mexico. The event Was the 24th year in a row that AAA had held a Triplemanía show, and was the 31st show held under the Triplemanía banner since 1993. The annual Triplemanía show is AAA's biggest show of the year, serving as the culmination of major storylines and feature wrestlers from all over the world competing in what has been described as AAA's version of WrestleMania or their Super Bowl event.
