Queens! Destiny of Dance is the story of an upmarket hijra community that is headed by their queen, Guru Amma.
Transgender activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi met the director David Atkins in 2001 and asked him to make a film on hijras. After a research, the director confirmed the project and contacted Tripathi to support the project, titled as Queens! Destiny Of Dance, and she happily agreed. National award winner Seema Biswas [7] and South Indian actor Vineeth were signed to play key roles along with Laxmi Narayan Tripathi as well as Archanna Guptaa, with veteran actor Raj Zutshi was also signed for a small role. In the Indian subcontinent, hijra are transgender, intersex, or eunuch people who live in communities that follow a kinship system known as guru-chela system. They are also known as aravani, aruvani, and jogappa, and in Pakistan, khawaja sira.
Water is a 2005 comedy drama and thriller film written and directed by Deepa Mehta, with screenplay by Anurag Kashyap. It is set in 1938 and explores the lives of widows at an ashram in India. She is also the Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of kinnar akhada. She was born in Malti Bai Hospital on 13th Dec 1978 in Thane. She is the first transgender person to represent Asia Pacific in the UN in 2008. At the assembly, she spoke of the plight of sexual minorities. "People should be more human-like. They should respect us as humans and consider our rights as transgenders," she said. She was a contestant on the popular reality show Bigg Boss in 2011. Her efforts helped the first Transgender team to scale a Himalayan peak in 2020.

Mimi is a 2021 Bollywood comedy drama film directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films. A remake of the 2011 Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy!, it stars Kriti Sanon in the eponymous lead who opts to be a surrogate mother for a foreign couple. It premiered on 27 January 2020. The show was taken off the air abruptly due to the COVID-19 lockdown and later was announced that the show will not be brought back post the coronavirus pandemic. The series is digitally available on Disney+ Hotstar.
