Queensland Coach Company was an Australian bus bodybuilder in Eagle Farm, Brisbane.

Eagle Farm is a largely industrial suburb of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia, situated around six kilometres north-east of the Brisbane central business district. It is the former site of Eagle Farm Airport, which served as Brisbane's main airport until the opening of the Brisbane Airport in 1988. Eagle Farm was also the site of the disused Eagle Farm railway station. The locality of Whinstanes is located in Eagle Farm. Eagle Farm is within the industrial-development zone known as Australia TradeCoast.

History

Queensland Coach Company was established in February 1999 by Greyhound Pioneer Australia to body 135 Scania coaches over five years, including 94 for its interstate coach operation. [1] Originally an alliance was formed with bodybuilder Alan B Denning with it proposed the Galaxy body design be used. But following the collapse of the Clifford Corporation, the rights to the Austral Pacific Majestic body were purchased. [2]

Clifford Corporation was a listed Australian company that purchased several bus manufacturing businesses in the mid-1990s before collapsing in November 1998.

In July 2000 Queensland Coach Company ceased trading and was put into liquidation. [3] [4] [5] The rights to the Majestic body were sold to Mills-Tui.

Mills-Tui

Mills-Tui was an Australian manufacturer of heavily specialised vehicles in Narangba, Brisbane.

While many of the coaches bodied were Scania K113TRB and K124EBs for Greyhound Pioneer Australia, it also bodied buses and coaches for external clients. A total of 46 bodies were completed. [6]
