Ramcharitra Rambhajan Singh (died 10 February 2022),commonly known as R.R. Singh,was an Indian politician from Indian National Congress,who served as the Mayor of Mumbai from 1993 to 1994. He died on 10 February 2022,at the age of 86. [1] He was a North Indian face in Maharashtra's politics. [2]
He started working as a tabela (cow shed) worker in Mumbai's suburban. He grew as a politician under the guidance of Dina Bama Patil,a trade union leader and legislator. [3]
He was elected as a corporator in the BMC poll for the first time in 1973. He was a corporator for 29 years,from 1973 until 2002. He was a member of the statutory standing committee twice,between 1991 and 1992. From 1993-1994,RR Singh served as the Mayor of Mumbai when the Indian National Congress was in power in Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. [3] He was also a member of BEST Health Committees and the founder and Chairman of Mulund-based R.R. Educational Trust. [3]
In January 2003,he was disqualified as the caste certificate he submitted for contesting the civic elections from Mulund in February 2002 was found to be fake. [4] Singh was arrested in the same case in March 2003 and later released on bail. [5] [6]
Ajit Pramod Kumar Jogi was an Indian politician,who has served as the 1st Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh from 2000 to 2003 and a member of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly from Marwahi from 2018 to 2020 and from 2001 to 2013. The 2008 attacks on Uttar Pradeshi and Bihari migrants in Maharashtra began on 3 February 2008 after violent clashes between workers of two political parties—Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Samajwadi Party (SP)—at Dadar in Mumbai,capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra. The clashes took place when workers of MNS,a splinter faction formed out of the Shiv Sena,tried to attack workers of SP,the regional party based in Uttar Pradesh,who were proceeding to attend a rally organised by the United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA). Defending his party's stand,MNS chief Raj Thackeray explained that the attack was a reaction to the "provocative and unnecessary show of strength" and "uncontrolled political and cultural dadagiri (bullying) of Uttar Pradeshi and Bihari migrants and their leaders".

The Antilia bomb scare occurred on 25 February 2021,when a car containing 20 gelignite sticks was found outside the residence of Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai. A note found inside the vehicle,addressed to Mukesh and his wife Nita Ambani,said that the act was a prelude and threatened additional violence.
