National Law School of India University(NLSIU),or simply the National Law School(NLS),is a public law school in Bangalore Karnataka,India. The school is one of the leading law schools in India,consistently ranked #1 in the National Institutional Ranking Framework for law.
Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College,commonly known by its former name Madras Law College,is a law school,located in Chennai (Madras),Tamil Nadu,India. It is also referred to as Government Law College or GLC,Chennai. It was established in 1891. It was renamed in 1990,as Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College,by the Government of Tamil Nadu in commemoration of the birth centenary of B. R. Ambedkar. In 1997,the Government of Tamil Nadu passed an Act which brought the college under the wings of the newly established Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University,splitting the college from the University of Madras.
Rao Bahadur Sir Kurma Venkatareddi NaiduKCSI (1875–1942),also known as K. V. Reddi Naidu,was an Indian politician,lawyer,diplomat,and academic. He served as the Premier of Madras Presidency and was one of only two Indians to hold the position of Governor of Madras Presidency,making him the only individual in history to have served as both Premier and Governor. As a prominent leader of the Justice Party,Naidu was known for his efforts to promote social equality,the abolition of untouchability,and social reforms. He was instrumental in the establishment of the first women's college in the Andhra region,located in Eluru.

Patcha Ramachandra Rao was a metallurgist and administrator. He has the unique distinction of being the only vice-chancellor (2002–05) of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) who was also a student (1963–68) and faculty (1964–92) at that institution. From 1992 to 2002,Rao was the director of the National Metallurgical Laboratory,Jamshedpur. After his tenure as vice-chancellor of B.H.U.,in 2005,he took the reins of the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) as its first vice-chancellor. He was to serve DIAT until his superannuation in 2007. From 2007 till the end,Rao was a Raja Ramanna Fellow at the International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials,in Hyderabad,Andhra Pradesh.

Sudhir Krishnaswamy is an Indian academic,administrator,and civil society activist who is currently the Vice-Chancellor of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) and is a co-founder of the not-for-profit research trust Centre for Law and Policy Research (CLPR). Krishnaswamy took over as VC of NLSIU from R. Venkata Rao in September 2019. Krishnaswamy is the first alumnus of NLSIU to be appointed as the VC of the institution. On 6 May 2020,Facebook appointed him to its content oversight board. He was awarded the Infosys Prize 2022 in the Humanities category,for his insightful understanding of the Indian Constitution.
