The television industry in India is very diverse and produces thousands of programs in many Indian languages. More than half of all Indian households own a television. As of 2016, the country had over 900 channels of which 184 were pay channels. National channels operate in Hindi and English, in addition to channels in several other languages including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Assamese, Gujarati, Urdu, Bhojpuri, Kashmiri, Konkani and Haryanvi, among others. The Hindi, Telugu and Tamil language television industries are by far the largest television industries in India.
Tata Play is an Indian Subscription based Satellite television (DTH) service provider using MPEG-4 digital compression technology, transmitting using INSAT-4A GSAT-10 and GSAT24 satellites. Incorporated in 2005, it currently offers 630+ channels, 543 SD channels and 91 HD channels and services, along with many other value added services. Tata Play is the largest DTH service provider in India. As of March 2023, according to TRAI Tata Play serves 21.3 million subscribers which is 32.65% of total DTH users in India.
Turner Classic Movies was an Asian digital classic film channel featuring commercial-free classic movies, mostly from the Turner Entertainment and Warner Bros. film libraries, which include many MGM titles. It was the Asian version of the US Turner Classic Movies and aired in the Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia and Middle East.
Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd. is an Indian content creator, aggregator and distributor, specifically in the media and entertainment industry. It was founded by Buddhichand Maroo in 1962 as a book-circulating library under the name Shemaroo. It set up India's first video rental business in 1979. The company went national after it began content distribution in 1987, became aggregators and bought rights to movies for home video.

Airtel Digital TV is an Indian Subscription based satellite television provider owned by Bharti Telemedia Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bharti Airtel. It launched DTH satellite television service in India on 9 October 2008.
Doordarshan Madhya Pradesh often abbreviated as DD Madhya Pradesh is a 24-hour regional satellite TV channel primarily telecasting from Doordarshan Kendra Bhopal and is a part of the state-owned Doordarshan television network. It was previously known as DD-11 Madhya pradesh.
HomeShop18 was an Indian online and on-air shopping channel. Previously, it was owned by the Network 18 Group division of Reliance Industries. But, now it was closed by Network 18 Group on 24 May 2019 and sold to Skyblue Buildwell Pvt. Ltd. It was renamed HomeShop. HomeShop18 is the only virtual retailer to feature in businessworld list of most respected companies in India.
Direct-to-Home (DTH) television is a method of receiving satellite television by means of signals transmitted from direct-broadcast satellites. The Government of India (GoI) permitted the reception and distribution of satellite television signals in November 2000. The first DTH service in the country was launched by Dish TV on 2 October 2003. DD Free Dish, the first free DTH service in India, was launched by public broadcaster Prasar Bharati in December 2004.
News Nation is an Indian free to air Hindi news television channel. News Nation is owned by Yash Raj Films Pvt Ltd.
Zindagi is an Indian general entertainment channel, owned by the Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEEL). It also promoted itself as a television channel broadcasting short-run programming and as India's new Hindi entertainment channel, rather than on-going, indefinite serials.
Travel Trendz is an Indian traveling show television channel which launched 12 September 2015. The channel is the first travel television channel in India. The channel is currently available only on Dish TV, Tata Sky, Airtel TV, Sun Direct, DD Direct, Big Network, Hatway DTH, Videocan D2H, which is used by the majority of the country. The channel is owned by Zee Entertainment Enterprises, based in Noida, and Mumbai. The channel is yet to launch in 3D.
Ishara TV is an Indian Hindi language free-to-air general entertainment television channel owned by IN10 Media. The network's programming consists of family dramas, mythological shows, family dramas, romantic serials, thriller and crime serials. The channel is also available on DD Free Dish from 1 April 2022 on LCN 9.
Q TV is an Indian Hindi language youth-centric entertainment channel owned by QYou Media. This channel shows some content from digital platforms like YouTube and MX Player. The channel was first launched as The Q, an Indian youth channel that primarily broadcast in Hindi on 24 June 2017.The Q was rebranded as Q TV on 9 June 2023.
Aalok Shrivastav is an Indian poet, lyricist and journalist. His critically acclaimed works include Aameen (2007), a poetry collection and Afreen (2012), a story collection, both published by Rajkamal Prakashan. Aalok's works have won a number of accolades for his works, including the International Pushkin Award and Dushyant Kumar Award by Madhya Pradesh Sahitya Akademi.
GSTV is a 24x7 Gujarati satellite news channel in India from the house of Gujarat Samachar. The channel was launched in 2012.
Chumbak TV is an Indian Hindi-language free-to-air youth centric entertainment channel which was owned by Shemaroo Entertainment Media Network. The channel was launched on 6 May 2023.
Republic Kannada is a free-to-air Indian Kannada-language news channel, launched on 22 September 2023, by Republic Media Network, co-founded by Arnab Goswami and Rajeev Chandrasekhar. Chandrashekhar funded the channel through his company Jupiter Capital Private Limited. Republic Kannada was previously named Dighvijaya News and was owned by Vijay Sankeshwar's VRL Media. Republic TV officially bought the channel and rebranded to Republic Kannada.
Chaupal is an over-the-top (OTT) streaming service owned by Bosna Digital Limited and Launched in August 2021, it offers content in Punjabi, Haryanvi, and Bhojpuri languages.
