Rada Ellen Owen (born October 12, 1978) is an American swimming coach and former competition swimmer. Owen competed in the 2000 Summer Olympics.
Rada Owen was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia and began her swimming career at the age of 5. [1] She swam for Poseidon Swimming in high school under esteemed coach Dudley Duncan, who also taught fellow Olympian Whitney Hedgepeth. [2] After graduating from Manchester High School, Owen went to Auburn University, where she was a member of one of the top swim programs in the country. While there she held numerous team records, was a six-time Southeastern Conference champion, a fourteen-time All-American, and was key in developing a national championship-winning team.
She competed for the United States in various international competitions, including the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. [3]
Her technique is the basis for the swim clinics she has run around the world. She lends her stroke demonstration to the "Swimming Faster Freestyle" DVD series and has been the focus of magazines articles depicting her form. She retired from competition in 2003, and now competes at Master's meets, usually only once a year and only in the relay events.
Owen appeared in a McDonald's commercial for the 2008 Summer Olympics. [4]
The Virginia Senate and House of Delegates passed a joint resolution commending Owen in 2001. [5]

Janet Beth Evans is an American former competition swimmer who specialized in distance freestyle events. Evans was a world champion and world record-holder, and won a total of four gold medals at the 1988 and the 1992 Olympics.
Dana Whitney Vollmer is a former American competition swimmer, five-time Olympic gold medalist, and former world record-holder. At the 2004 Summer Olympics, she won a gold medal as a member of the winning United States team in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay that set the world record in the event. Hoff was known for her success in the 200-meter and 400-meter individual medley. She represented the United States at the 2004 Summer Olympics and 2008 Summer Olympics, in which she was awarded a silver medal and two bronze medals.
Yoav Bruck in the northern Negev in south-central Israel, is a former Israeli swimmer, who competed in three Summer Olympics for his native country, in the years 1992, 1996, and 2000. In Olympic competition, Bruck swam the 50m and 100m freestyle events, as well as the 4x100m free and medley relays for Israel. In the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Bruck's 4x100 Medley Relay team set an Israeli national record in a preliminary heat, and became the first Israeli team to make the finals in that even. He has served as a founder and CEO of Israel's ISTAA Sport, a sports ticketing and travel company.
Whitney Lynn Hedgepeth is an American former competition swimmer who won a gold and two silver medals at the 1996 Summer Olympics.
Lindsay Dianne Benko, known by her married name Lindsay Mintenko since 2005, is an American former competition swimmer, two-time Olympian, former world record-holder, and a managing director of USA Swimming. She represented the United States women as a Team Captain at the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics, taking a gold medal in freestyle relays both years. She held the short-course world record in the 400-meter freestyle at 3:59.53, for nearly three years from January 2003 to December 2005.
The Auburn Tigers swimming and diving program is Auburn University's representative in the sport of swimming and diving. The Tigers compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division 1 and are members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The program started in 1932 when the pool was in the basement of the gymnasium. The program had to telegraph their timed results to other schools and compare as the pool was too small for competitions.

He is an Olympic gold medalist in the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay from the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Haas competed collegiately for the University of Texas at Austin from 2015 to 2019 under head coach Eddie Reese where he was a 10-time NCAA Champion, a 17-time All-American, and a 3-time NCAA team champion. Alexandra Walsh is an American competitive swimmer. She is known for her versatility in all four strokes that has allowed her to have success in medley events. Growing up, Walsh was a phenom who started setting national age group records at 12 in 2014. She led her high school team to multiple state and national championships. At the 2019 Pan American Games, she won three gold medals.
