Radagun is an American pop band based in Jacksonville, Florida, consisting of husband and wife Todd Low and Aimee Ortiz and is occasionally accompanied by additional live performers. In March 2009 Radagun released the single "Runaway" from their debut album Life Lessons. The album created enough buzz to land them a page in Alternative Press Magazine, [1] and the video for "Runaway" was picked up for rotation by over 40 outlets most notably including Fuse TV, MTV Latin America, and Billboard.com. [2] [3] [4] Lead singer Aimee Ortiz also received a sponsorship from Daisy Rock Guitars and is featured on their artists page. [5] Radagun's song Party Girl, off their Life Lessons album was featured in an episode of The Bad Girls Club on April 18, 2011. [6]

History

The band had beginnings in Fresno, California. The band's core members Aimee Ortiz and Todd Low established Radagun in September 2008 and the band went through several member changes during their first year until finally settling on the idea of a two-person band with live performers filling in occasionally. The band quickly gained distinction in the local music scene from a fierce promotional campaign for their first live performance. [7]

Radagun's first performance as a band was on the Fresno television show Great Day [8] which aired on KMPH Fox 26 on January 30, 2009. The station received positive feedback from their performance, and the band used the show to plug their upcoming CD release show. The band also aired TV commercials during The Simpsons and George Lopez [9] among other shows, the entire week of their first live performance and arranged to raffle off a guitar at the show with the help of sponsor GuitarItUp. [10] On March 6, 2009 Radagun released their debut album, Life Lessons, and headlined their first show just ten people shy of a sold-out crowd, immediately ranking them among the elite in Fresno's music scene. In May 2009 Radagun was featured in Alternative Press Magazine , issue #250.

In June 2009 founding members Aimee Ortiz and Todd Low began speaking with producer Zack Odom about recording in Atlanta, Georgia. It was decided that the band would move to the east coast in order to further their career. [11] Upon arriving in Jacksonville, Florida, Radagun immediately made an impact on the Jacksonville music scene. In March 2010 they booked a nationwide tour stopping back in their hometown of Fresno, California at the historic Tower Theater. [12]

Public service

On November 6, 2009 Radagun performed on Action News At 6 on CBS 47 WTEV Jacksonville to promote their performance at Rock For Kids 09, [13] a benefit concert held at The Jacksonville Landing in Jacksonville, Florida for Prevent Child Abuse Florida and the Ounce of Prevention Fund of Florida. [14] Radagun donated an Alchemy guitar which was auctioned off at the event raising $250 for the organizations.

Lynyrd Skynyrd is an American rock band formed in Jacksonville, Florida. The group originally formed as My Backyard in 1964 and comprised Ronnie Van Zant, Gary Rossington (guitar), Allen Collins (guitar), Larry Junstrom and Bob Burns (drums). The band spent five years touring small venues under various names and with several lineup changes before deciding on "Lynyrd Skynyrd" in 1969. The band released its first album in 1973, having settled on a lineup that included bassist Leon Wilkeson, keyboardist Billy Powell and guitarist Ed King. Burns left and was replaced by Artimus Pyle in 1974. King left in 1975 and was replaced by Steve Gaines in 1976. The band's original guitarist and sometime songwriter, Michael Houser, died of pancreatic cancer in 2002, and the original drummer, Todd Nance, left in 2016 and died in 2020.

Cold is an American rock band, from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 1986 by lead singer and rhythm guitarist Scooter Ward, drummer Sam McCandless, bassist Jeremy Marshall and lead guitarist Matt Loughran. The band has since gone through numerous lineup changes leaving Ward and McCandless as the remaining original members of the band. Cold has recorded six studio albums: Cold (1998), 13 Ways to Bleed on Stage (2000), Year of the Spider (2003), A Different Kind of Pain (2005), Superfiction (2011), and The Things We Can't Stop (2019). Within two gold-albums, Cold has sold over one million records in the US alone. On November 17, 2006, it was announced on Myspace that, after a period of uncertainty since that February, the group had decided to disband. In July 2008, it was announced that the original line-up would reunite for a tour in early 2009. This became permanent and the band released their fifth studio album Superfiction on July 19, 2011. The band released their sixth studio album The Things We Can't Stop on September 13, 2019.

Yellowcard Rock band from Jacksonville, Florida

Yellowcard was an American rock band that formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1997 and was based in Los Angeles beginning in 2000. The band is well known for its singles "Ocean Avenue", "Only One", and "Lights and Sounds". The group's music is distinctive within its genre because it features the prominent use of a violin. The band released ten studio albums, with its most recent and final one, Yellowcard, released on September 30, 2016. The band played its final show on March 25, 2017, at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California.

WJAX-TV, virtual channel 47, is a CBS-affiliated television station licensed to Jacksonville, Florida, United States. Owned by Vero Beach–based Hoffman Communications, it is operated under joint sales and shared services agreements (JSA/SSA) by Cox Media Group, making it a sister station to Fox affiliate WFOX-TV. Initially founded by former Operation Ivy members Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman, the band has had a fluid lineup over its career, with the most recent lineup includes Elyse Rogers and Karina Deniké on vocals, brothers Jason Hammon and Gavin Hammon on guitar and drums respectively, and Mikey Weiss on bass. Low is an American indie rock band from Duluth, Minnesota, formed in 1993. The group is composed of founding members Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker. Previous bassists for the band include John Nichols from 1993 to 1994, Zak Sally from 1994 to 2005, Matt Livingston from 2005 to 2008, and Steve Garrington from 2008 to 2020.

Leave a Whisper is the debut studio album by American rock band Shinedown. The album was released on May 27, 2003, faring well due to the success of the singles "Fly from the Inside" and "45". Recording took place at Henson Recording Studios and The Blue Room, both in Los Angeles. Leave a Whisper paved the way for Shinedown's successful second album, Us and Them, and was re-released on June 15, 2004, to incorporate a cover version of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man". The album's singles also fared well, with "Fly from the Inside" reaching No. 5, "45" reaching No. 3, "Simple Man" reaching No. 5, and "Burning Bright" reaching No. 2 on the US Mainstream Rock list.
