The 1920 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the VII Olympiad and commonly known as Antwerp 1920, were an international multi-sport event held in 1920 in Antwerp, Belgium.

Giovanni Franceschi is an Italian swimmer who won two five medals in medley disciplines at European Championships of 1981–1983. He also competed in three events at the 1980 and 1984 Summer Olympics with the best achievement of eights place in the 400 m medley in 1984. During his career, Franceschi won 41 national titles in various freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and medley events. At the 1983 European Championships, held in Rome, he won both the 200 and 400 medley events, setting a European record in both finals.
Raffaele Manardi was an Italian bobsledder who competed in the 1930s. He finished tenth in the four-man event at the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Cape Verde competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. Their participation marked their fourth Olympic appearance. Two Cape Verdeans competed in the Olympic games: Nelson Cruz participated as a marathon runner, and Wania Monteiro participated in gymnastics. Another athlete, Lenira Santos, was selected to compete in athletics but was forced to pull out due to injury. Monteiro was selected as the flag bearer for both the opening and closing ceremonies. Raffaele Bastoni was an Italian sprint canoer, born in Rome, who competed in the early 1950s. He finished 17th in the K-2 10000 m event at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki.
The 1962 World Rowing Championships were the inaugural world championships in rowing. The competition was held in September 1962 on the Rotsee in Lucerne, Switzerland. Rowers from West Germany dominated the competition, winning five of the seven boat classes.
The Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations (ARISF) is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation constituted through and recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The ARISF's members are international sports federations recognised by the IOC that currently do not compete in either the Summer or Winter Olympics. Becoming a member of this organization does not imply or guarantee that the sport will be included in future Olympic games.
