Omar Jeffery Pineiro, known professionally as Smokepurpp, is an American rapper. He first became known in the SoundCloud rap scene for his 2017 single "Audi", which received platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In March of that year, he signed with Alamo and Interscope Records to release the song and his debut mixtape for which it served as lead single, Deadstar (2017), the following September. It peaked at number 42 on the Billboard 200, while his debut studio album and the mixtape's sequel, Deadstar 2 (2019) narrowly entered the chart. His second album, Florida Jit (2020) failed to chart in any known territory and served as his final album on the label.

He often collaborated with UK drill artists and producers, who employed more minimal and aggressive instrumentation than American drill artists from Chicago, reintroducing the sound as Brooklyn drill.

Brooklyn drill is a regional subgenre of drill music, which is a subgenre of rap music. It centered in Brooklyn, New York, that began as derivative of the drill music scene in Chicago and later became derivative of UK drill with its 808 percussion and sliding notes by producers from the UK drill scene. Brooklyn drill emerged around 2014 with the single "Hot Nigga" from the rapper Bobby Shmurda. Other early contributors were Rowdy Rebel, Bam Bino, Money Millz, Dah Dah and Curly Savv.

The deluxe edition of the album that includes four additional tracks was released on what would have been Pop Smoke's 22nd birthday, July 20, 2021. Faith is a drill, trap, and hip hop record with elements of pop-trap, gospel, and pop.
"Coupe" is a song by American rapper Pop Smoke from his second posthumous studio album, Faith (2021). The song was written by Pop Smoke, Steven Victor, and Rico Beats. The track was solely produced by the latter. "Coupe" features the use of looping 808's, while the lyrics discuss the themes of celebrity excess. The song received mixed from music critics, with one of them saying Pop Smoke's vocal felt unfinished.
"Rollin n Controllin Freestyle" is the debut single by American rapper Dusty Locane, released on August 7, 2020. WOO Forever is the second mixtape by American drill artist Rah Swish. The mixtape was released on June 26, 2020, by Empire and WOO Entertainment. The mixtape features guest appearances from Curly Savv, Jay Gwuapo and an uncredited appearance from Pop Smoke.
