Gol-e-Afroze Government College, also called Gule Afroze Degree College, is the only public residential, coeducational, institute of higher learning of Singra in Natore, Bangladesh. It is one of the five government colleges in the Natore District, and the third oldest, established before the War of 1971 and the Independence of the country. Although it was a private college of the aristocratic Singranatore family, in 1986, the then President and former military ruler, HM Ershad announced that it would be made into a public college. He is an organizing secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). Dulu was born in Natore Sadar Upazila of Natore District. He was a regular practitioner lawyer. Along with his legal career, he was also active in politics. In 1977, he joined the BNP's student organization Chhatra Dal.
Paksey is a town situated on the banks of the Padma River in Ishwardi Upazila–the westernmost Upazila of Pabna District in Rajshahi Division, Bangladesh. Paksey is home to the Hardinge Bridge–a steel railway bridge named after Lord Hardinge who was the Viceroy of British India from 1910 to 1916. Paksey also serves as the western zone headquarters for the Bangladesh Railway. The road bridge, Lalon Shah Bridge, crosses the Padma at Paksey.
