Rahul Mittra is an Indian film producer, actor and founder of Rahul Mittra Films, Brandsmith & Brandsmith Motion Pictures. A former journalist from the Times of India, Rahul Mittra is a branding expert and communication expert and has won multiple awards for his films and innovative business practices including Amity Leadership Award, Uttar Pradesh Gaurav Samman, numerous Best Producer Awards at Norway, Poland, San Francisco, Vietnam, Hungary, Uttarakhand, Mizoram, Kashmir & Tashkent Film festivals. In his second innings at the Times of India Group, Rahul started an initiative called Medianet whereby editorial spaces of the publication were monetized for brand endorsements, making it one of the most controversial initiatives in Indian media history ever and a big money spinner.

Early life

Rahul Mittra did his schooling from St. John's High School Chandigarh and then Modern School Barakhamba Road, Delhi after his bureaucrat father late M.P. Mittra (IAS) got posted to Delhi in the Ministry of Home Affairs. He then graduated in Political Science from Hindu College, Delhi University after which Rahul pursued his MA in International Studies with specialisation in diplomacy from the School of International Studies, Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU). Rahul was then picked up by The Times of India as Sub-Editor cum reporter in 1994 where he regularly wrote on diverse topics ranging from politics, youth issues, crime, culture & foreign affairs. Rahul Mittra dabbled in diverse arenas like Journalism, Brand management, Tourism, IT and Business Consulting before becoming a filmmaker with his debut hit film Saheb Biwi aur Gangster in 2011. He has nearly three decades of experience in media, brand management, corporate communication, marketing, government relations, business  consulting and promotions & is known to synergize multiple businesses.

Film career

Rahul Mittra's Saheb biwi aur Gangster changed the context of Indian cinema from NRI centric films to Indian heartland, apart from the lives of everyone involved including director Tigmanshu Dhulia and actors Jimmy Sheirgill, Randeep Hooda & Mahie Gill. Rahul Mittra has worked closely with top actors including Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Irrfan Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Manoj Bajpayee, Arjun Rampal, Randeep Hooda, Jimmy Sheirgill, Rahul Dev, Raj Babbar, Gulshan Grover, Chunky Pandey, Kangana Ranaut, Sonakshi Sinha, Yami Gautam, Nargis Fakhri, Richa Chadha, Chitrangda Singh, Mahie Gill, Soha Ali Khan amongst others.[ citation needed ]

Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns is a 2013 Indian romantic thriller drama film directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. It is the sequel to the 2011 film, Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster and the second installment of the Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster film series. The film stars Jimmy Sheirgill and Mahi Gill, who reprised their roles from the previous film, while new additions to the cast include Irrfan Khan and Soha Ali Khan. The film was released on 8 March 2013. Jimmy Shergill won Best Actor Award for this film at 11th Norway Bollywood Film Festival in Oslo. A sequel titled Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3 was released on 27 July 2018 and got poor reviews because of its poor script and weak plotlines.

Vipin Aneja is an Indian playback singer in Bollywood. He sang the popular song 'Jaane Tere Shehar Ka' in the movie Jazbaa which stars the likes of Irrfan Khan and Aishwarya Rai.

<i>Torbaaz</i> 2020 Indian film

Torbaaz is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Girish Malik. Sanjay Dutt plays the role of a medical professional that lost his wife and son while he was placed in the Indian Embassy in Kabul, while Nargis Fakhri and Rahul Dev play other prominent characters. Torbaaz was earlier scheduled for a theatrical release, which could not happen owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, after which the makers confirmed its distribution contract with Netflix. It was premiered on 11 December 2020 on Netflix.

Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 is a 2018 Indian crime thriller film directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. It is the sequel of 2013's Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns which was also directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and the third installment of Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster film series.

Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster is a series of Indian Hindi-language romantic thriller films co-written, co-produced and directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. Its title was inspired by 1962's Bollywood film Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam. The film series stars Jimmy Sheirgill as Aditya Pratap Singh (Saheb) and Mahi Gill as Madhavi Deva (Biwi). The first film named Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster was released in 2011 and the second film Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns released in 2013. Both films received critical acclaim and perform moderate success at the box office. The third film Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3 released in 2018 and received poor reviews from critics for its script and weak plotlines and became a disaster at the box office.
