Rajesh Kumar Singh (born 24 November 1964) is a 1989-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the Kerala cadre who is appointed as 40th Defence Secretary of India by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet and is currently serving from 1 November 2024 onwards. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] Before,he served as Secretary,Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and previously served as Secretary of Animal Husbandry and Dairying.Prior,to stint he served in various positions in the Kerala government.
The Indian Administrative Service (IAS) is the administrative arm of the All India Services of Government of India. The IAS is one of the three All India Services along with the Indian Police Service and Indian Forest Service. Members of these three services serve the Government of India as well as the individual states. IAS officers are also deployed to various government establishments such as constitutional bodies,staff and line agencies,auxiliary bodies,public sector undertakings,regulatory bodies,statutory bodies and autonomous bodies.

Vinod Kumar Duggal is a retired Indian civil servant. Duggal served as Home Secretary in the Government of India from 2005 to 2007 in the government of Manmohan Singh.
