Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Adilabad also RIMS Adilabad is a medical institute located in Adilabad. [1] [2] It is affiliated to Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences.
It was established by Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (2004–2009) in the year 2008. The first batch was started in 2008.
The present intake is to go up by 125 seats from 2019–20, taking the total to 525 seats. [3]
Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, often referred to by his initials NTR, was an Indian actor, film director, film producer, screenwriter, film editor and politician who served as a former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years over three terms. He is regarded as one of the most influential actors of Indian cinema. He starred in over 300 films, predominantly in Telugu cinema, and was referred to as "Viswa Vikhyatha Nata Sarvabhouma". Rao received three National Film Awards for co-producing Thodu Dongalu (1954) and Seetharama Kalyanam (1960) under National Art Theater, Madras, and for directing Varakatnam (1970). In 1968, The Government of India honoured him with Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award, for his contributions to Indian cinema. In 2013, NTR was voted as "Greatest Indian Actor of All Time" in a CNN-IBN national poll conducted on the occasion of the Centenary of Indian Cinema.

Yeduguri Sandinti Rajasekhara Reddy, popularly known as YSR, was an Indian politician. He served as the 14th chief minister of Andhra Pradesh from 2004 to 2009. Reddy was elected four terms to the Lok Sabha from Kadapa and was also elected six terms to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Pulivendula. He had won every election that, he had contested either to Assembly or Lok Sabha. He is one of the great leaders in India who didn't lost contested election in the whole career.

Sunkara Balaparameswara Rao was an Indian neurosurgeon. He is regarded as the 'father of neurosurgery in united Andhra Pradesh'. He started the first Department of Neurosurgery in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh in April 1956. He received the Dr. B. C. Roy award in 1989.
Jogu Ramanna is an Indian politician who was the Minister of Forest and Environment & Backward Classes Welfare of Telangana from 2 June 2014 to 6 September 2018. He is a Member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly from Adilabad constituency since 2 June 2014. He was earlier a member of Telugu Desam Party. He is an M.L.A. from Adilabad assembly constituency from past four times 2018, 2014, 2012 by elections and 2009 also. He contested from Adilabad seat on BRS ticket in the 2023 Telangana Assembly Elections and lost the seat to BJP's Payal Shanker by 6,692 votes.
Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) is a Medical Institute under State Legislature Act and a speciality hospital in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. SVIMS was conceived on the lines of All India Institute of Medical Sciences Delhi, and was created by an act of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature. The foundation stone was laid on 18 April 1986 by N. T. Rama Rao, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The hospital started functioning from 2 February 1993 and later became a Medical Institute under State Legislature Act in 1995. The current director is Dr. R.V.Kumar

He was elected as MLA of Nirmal in 2014 General Election as BSP candidate and won over Sri Hari Rao by margin of 10,000 votes. He later joined the TRS Party and became Minister in charge of law, housing and endowments. He was Member of Parliament of India. He was a member of the 10th and 14th Lok Sabhas. Reddy represented the Adilabad constituency of United Andhra Pradesh.

Founded by Pawan Kalyan on 14 March 2014, it is currently the second largest party in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and a partner in the ruling coalition. Pawan Kalyan, the party leader, has been serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh since June 2024. Janasena advocates for a centrist approach with a focus on humanism. The party's election symbol is a glass tumbler.
Godam Nagesh, is an Indian politician. He hails from the Gond people.. G. Nagesh was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in the 1994 election from the Boath seat, contesting as a Telugu Desam Party candidate. His father G. Rama Rao, former Minister for Tribal Welfare, was incumbent legislator of Boath at the time. G. Nagesh won the seat, obtaining 51,593 votes. He was amongst the youngest legislators in the Legislative Assembly at the time. G. Nagesh was named as Minister of State for Scheduled Tribes Welfare and Welfare of the Handicapped in the TDP state government after the election.
