Varanasi Ram Mohan Rao (1939-2005) widely known as Ram Mohan was an Indian actor known for his works primarily in Telugu cinema, and few Tamil films. [1] [2] He is featured in more than 25 feature films in a variety of roles, and best known for his work as lead actor in films such as Thene Manasulu (1965), Kanne Manasulu (1966), and Private Master (1967), whilst media described him as Andhra Dev Anand due to his similarities with Bollywood actor Dev Anand. [3] Ram Mohan worked with stalwart directors of the time such as B. N. Reddy, Adurthi Subba Rao, V. Madhusudhana Rao, K. Viswanath, and T. Krishna. [4] [1]

Personal life and death

Ram Mohan was born, February 4, 1939, in Giddaluru, Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh into a Telugu speaking family of Varanasi Rama Rao, and sons. [1] Ram Mohan is second child among eight children. [1] Ram Mohan completed BE degree in Kurnool. Prior to films he worked as Engineering Manager with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited in Bangalore. [5] He died in 2005 due to ill health. [6] [2]

In 1998, he received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award - South, and the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award in 2001. Ramalingaiah appeared in over 1000 films in a variety of roles. The "Allu Ramalingaiah National Award" was instituted in his memory by the "Allu Ramalingaiah Academy of Arts". The award is presented every year to a Telugu film personality for life time achievement.

Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy, known mononymously as Krishna, was an Indian actor, director and producer known for his work predominantly in Telugu cinema. In a career spanning more than five decades, he starred in over 350 films in a variety of roles. He is referred to as "Superstar" in the Telugu media. In 2009, the government of India honoured him with the Padma Bhushan for his contributions to Indian cinema. He was elected as a Member of Parliament for the Congress party in 1989. In 1997, he received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award – South in addition to Honorary doctorate from Andhra University in 2008. He died on 15 November 2022 due to cardiac arrest.

Raavu Gopala Rao was an Indian actor and producer known for his works in Telugu cinema and Telugu theatre. In a film career spanning more than 25 years, Rao starred in over 400 feature films in a variety of characters. He was known for his gruesome portrayals of antagonist roles with a touch of humor. He was presented with Kala Prapoorna in 1990 by Andhra University and was honored with "Natavirat" and "Chittoor Nagayya Award" in 1987.

Dhulipala Sitarama Sastry, known mononymously by the surname Dhulipala, was an Indian actor and thespian, known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He was noted for playing mythological roles, particularly the role of Shakuni. He began his acting career at the young age of 13 and went on to work in about 300 films. He shot to fame with Bhishma and Sri Krishna Pandaveeyam, acting alongside N. T. Rama Rao.
