Rama is an Indian actress who has appeared in the Tamil film industry in 1990. After her marriage in 1991, she stopped acting in movies and settled with her husband Venkatesh and two sons. However she made a film comeback in the 2010 movie Aval Peyar Thamizharasi in mother roles and also acting with other supporting roles and TV serials.
Shanthi was a volleyball player for the Tamil Nadu team when director Bharathiraja cast her in En Uyir Thozhan (1990). The director had continued his tradition of christening his heroines in new names beginning with "R", and "Rama" was subsequently the name given to her. Though it fared poorly at the box office, critics since have applauded the film in hindsight. She was cast in a movie Anthi Varum Neram along with her sister Latha as lead heroine role (1990)[ citation needed ] The failure of the film prompted her to stop appearing in Tamil films. [1] [2]
She made a brief return in 2010, playing a mother role in Aval Peyar Thamizharasi before earning critical acclaim as Karthi’s feisty, possessive mother in Pa. Ranjith’s Madras (2014). She has since also been a part of A. R. Murugadoss’ Kaththi (2014), where she played Vijay’s mother, and the political drama Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai (2015). She also acted in television serials such as Bharathiraja's Appanum Athaalum which was telecast on Kalaignar TV and also in serials Avalum Penn Thaane and Kanavarukaaga which were telecast on Sun TV. Rama married Venkatesh in 1991. The couple have two sons.

Bangalore Saroja Devi is an Indian actress who has acted in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi films. She acted in around 200 films over seven decades. She is known by the epithets "Abhinaya Saraswathi" in Kannada and "Kannadathu Paingili" in Tamil. She is one of the most successful actresses in the history of Indian cinema.

Aval Peyar Thamizharasi is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Meera Kathiravan. The film stars Jai, Manochitra, Dhiyana, S. Theodore Baskaran and Ganja Karuppu in lead roles. The music was composed by Vijay Antony with cinematography by P. G. Muthiah and editing by Raja Mohammad. The film was released on 5 March 2010 and failed commercially.
Sujatha was an Indian actress who performed and starred in a variety of unique characters in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films- in addition to few in Kannada and Hindi languages as well. The actress was best known for restraint and subtlety in portrayal of varied emotions. After starring in numerous Malayalam films in her mother-tongue, Sujatha later got introduced to the Tamil film industry by veteran director K. Balachander and producer P.R. Govindarajan as a protagonist in her first Tamil film, Aval Oru Thodar Kathai (1974). It was a critically acclaimed film and launched the actress's first commecrical breakthrough in her acting career. Whereas, her first Telugu picture happened to be a Telugu/Tamil bilingual titled as Guppedu Manasu (1979) in Telugu and was simultaneously shot as Nool Veli in Tamil of the same year. She died of a cardiac arrest on 6 April 2011 in Chennai.

Kaatrukkena Veli is a 2021 Indian-Tamil language drama starring Priyanka Kumar with Swaminathan Anantharaman and Darshan K. Raju. It is an official remake of Star Jalsha serial Mohor. It premiered on 18 January 2021, and aired on Star Vijay and is also available on the digital platform Disney+ Hotstar before its telecast. The series final episode was aired 30 September 2023 and ended with 809 episodes.
