The Ramon Llull Award (Spanish: Premio Ramon Llull; Catalan: Premi Ramon Llull) is an honor awarded annually by the Government of the Balearic Islands  [ es ] to persons or entities of the Balearic Islands that have excelled in any field. It was established in 1997 by Decree 3/2014. [1]

Santa Maria de Montserrat is an abbey of the Order of Saint Benedict located on the mountain of Montserrat in Monistrol de Montserrat, Catalonia, Spain. It is notable for enshrining the image of the Virgin of Montserrat. The monastery was founded in 1025 and rebuilt between the 19th and 20th centuries. With a community of around 70 monks, the abbey is still in use to this day.

The Institut Ramon Llull is a consortium consisting of the Generalitat de Catalunya,, the Govern de les Illes Balears and the Ajuntament de Barcelona. Its purpose is to project and disseminate abroad Catalan language and culture in all of its forms of expression. To do this, the Institut Ramon Llull provides support for external relations in the cultural ambit of its member organisations.

The first names, or glossonyms, of the Catalan/Valencian language formed in a dialectal relation with Latin, in which Catalan existed as a variety. These names already expressed the relationship between the two languages. New names that related Catalan to Rome came about to dignify the Catalan language in the thirteenth century, though Latinists called it vulgar and the people planus, or pla.

Última Hora is the best selling newspaper in the Balearic Islands founded by Josep Tous Ferrer on 1 May 1893, published by Hora Nova S.A. and belong to Grupo Serra, a mass communication company. The publication is dedicated to local news and has been distinguished with the Gold Medal of the City of Palma from the Confederación de Asociaciones Empresariales de las Baleares (CAEB).

The Ramon Llull Novel Award is an honor given annually to a novel originally written in Catalan. Conceived in 1981 by editor José Manuel Lara Hernández, it is awarded by the Planeta publishing house in conjunction with the Government of Andorra. It confers a monetary prize, originally 250,000 pesetas and now €60,000. It recognizes works of the greatest economic value in the Catalan language.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Cort Library</span> Majorcan public library

The Cort Library is a public library in Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain. It is the oldest of Palma's local libraries, and it is located inside Palma's town council building, in Cort square, 1. At present, it is part of the Bibliopalma library network. Its collection can be consulted online through the Bibliographic Catalogue of the Balearic Islands. The library also organises regular exhibitions, presentations, conferences, and reading clubs.

Lluis Bonet Garí was a Catalan architect of the Noucentisme movement.

The Carles Riba Poetry Prize is a literary prize for Catalan-language works awarded by the Edicions Proa publishing house with funding by the Catalan Encyclopedia Foundation. The winning poem is selected from original, unpublished poems during the Literary Night of Saint Lucía, organized by the Òmnium Cultural association. It has an endowment of €5,000.
