The politics of Kenya take place in a framework of a presidential representative democratic republic, whereby the president is both head of state and head of government, and of a multi-party system in accordance with a new constitution passed in 2010.
James Aggrey Bob Orengo is a Kenyan lawyer, a well known human rights activist and politician who is the current governor for Siaya County. Mombasa County is one of the 47 counties of Kenya. Its capital is Mombasa. In terms of economy it is second after Nairobi. Initially it was one of the former districts of Kenya but in 2013 it was reconstituted as a county, on the same boundaries. It is the smallest county in Kenya, covering an area of 229.7 km2 excluding 65 km2 of water mass. The county is situated in the south eastern part of the former Coast Province. Kwale is a small town in and the capital of Kwale County, Kenya. It is located at around 4°10′28″S39°27′37″E; 30 km southwest of Mombasa and 15 km inland. The town has an urban population of 10,063. It is next to the Shimba Hills National Reserve.
Cyrus Shakhalaga Khwa Jirongo, popularly Cyrus Jirongo, is a politician and a former Member of Parliament in Kenya. Between 1978 and 1981 he went to Mang'u High School. He became the chairman of AFC Leopards football club in 1991.
Hassan Ali Joho is a Kenyan politician and the former Governor of Mombasa County affiliated with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). He was also elected to represent the Kisauni Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya during the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election. On 4 March 2013, during the general election, Joho was elected as the first governor of Mombasa County. In the 2017 General Elections held on 8 August, Joho retained his seat on an ODM ticket. Despite significant politically engineered setbacks, Joho emerged triumphant by winning with 220 576 votes against his closest rival Suleiman Shahbal with 69 322 votes, Suleiman was a member of the Jubilee Party. Joho served as governor of Mombasa until 2022, when he completed the constitunionally allowed two five-year terms. He was succeded by Abdulswammad Sherrif Nassir the former member of the National Assembly for Mvita Constituency.
Gideon Musyoka Ndambuki is a Kenyan politician. He has been the Kaiti Constituency MP since 1997 when the constituency was established, and was a minister between 1998 and 2002. At the 1997 and 2002 elections he won the seat representing the KANU party, but represented the Orange Democratic Movement-Kenya at the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election. He unsuccessfully vied for the Makueni County Senate seat during Wiper Democratic Party nominations in the run-up to the 2013 General Elections in Kenya. Educated in the US, he was an employee of the Commercial Bank of Africa in the 1980s, and more controversially, Managing Director of Trade Bank between 1986 and its collapse in 1993.
Abdirahman Ali Hassan is a Kenyan politician. He served in the government of Kenya as assistant minister for trade and industry from 2005 to 2007. A member of the Orange Democratic Movement, He was elected to represent the Wajir South Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya in the Kenyan 2002 parliamentary election. He was also elected to the senate of Kenya in 2013, representing Wajir county, and becoming deputy minority leader in the senate.
Aden Keynan Wehliye is a Member of the National Assembly of Kenya. He served Wajir West constituency from 1997 to 2002 and 2007 to 2013. He then moved to Eldas constituency which was carved from Wajir West. Keynan served as the MP of Eldas in the 11th and 12th parliaments. He represented the Orange Democratic Movement until 2017 when he switched to the Jubilee Party. Keynan was re-elected on the Jubilee ticket in the 2022 elections. He is the longest-serving MP of the 13th Parliament of Kenya.
Yusuf Hassan Abdi is a Kenyan politician, diplomat, social activist and former journalist. After working many years with the United Nations, he joined the Kenya parliament as a legislator in 2011.
Local elections were held in Mombasa to elect a Governor and County Assembly on 4 March 2013. Under the new constitution, which was passed in a 2010 referendum, the 2013 general elections were the first in which Governors and members of the County Assemblies for the newly created counties were elected. They will also be the first general elections run by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) which has released the official list of candidates.

Ochilo George Mbogo Ayacko is a Kenyan politician who has served as the Governor of Migori County since August 2022.
Aisha Jumwa Karisa Katana is a Kenyan politician currently serving as the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Affirmative Action and Gender in Kenya. She previously served as a Member of Parliament representing Malindi Constituency in Kilifi County, Commissioner of the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC), the woman representative for Kilifi County from 2013 to 2017, and as Councillor for Takaungu Ward from 1997 to 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Leadership and Management from International Leadership University and Executive Diploma in Governance from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
General elections were held in Kenya on Tuesday, 9 August 2022. Voters elected the president, governors, senators, members of the National Assembly, and members of county assemblies.
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is the current ruling political party in Kenya. Their slogan is "Kazi ni Kazi" and their symbol is a wheelbarrow. The party, initially called the Party of Development and Reforms, officially changed its name to UDA in December 2020. The party became notable in January 2021, and is allied with William Ruto, the President of Kenya.
Abdullswamad Sheriff Nassir is a Kenyan politician. He is the governor of Mombasa County. He was elected on an ODM ticket under Azimio la Umoja, One Kenya Alliance in the 2022 General Election. He earlier served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Mvita Constituency from 2012 to 2022).
Badi Twalib is a Kenyan politician and member of the Kenyan parliament elected from Jomvu constituency on the ticket of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). First elected to the 11th parliament in 2013, he serves on the parliamentary committees of Regional Integration and Joint Parliamentary Broadcasting and Library.
Hassan Mohamed Mwanyoha is a Kenyan politician and a former member of the Kenya parliament elected from Matuga Constituency, Kwale County. He was first elected to the Parliament in 2002 and again in 2013. He previously served as a councilor of Tiwi Ward for 15 years on ticket of Kenya African National Union (KANU).
Gonzi Samuel Rai is a Kenyan politician and a former member of Kenyan parliament from Kinango Constituency in Kwale County. He was first elected to the parliament in 1992 on the ticket of Kenya African National Union (KANU), and 2002 and 2007 on the ticket of Forum for the Restoration of Democracy–People (FORD-People) and won the election on the ticket of The National Alliance (TNA) in the 2013 parliamentary election. His legislative interest focuses on defence, security amd public accounts.
