The politics of Kenya take place in a framework of a presidential republic, whereby the president is both head of state and head of government, and of a multi-party system in accordance with a new constitution passed in 2010.

Mombasa County is one of the 47 counties of Kenya and has its capital in Mombasa. In terms of economy it is second after Nairobi. Kwale is a small town in and the capital of Kwale County, Kenya. It is located at around 4°10′28″S39°27′37″E; 30 km southwest of Mombasa and 15 km inland. The town has an urban population of 10,063. It is next to the Shimba Hills National Reserve.
Cyrus Shakhalaga Khwa Jirongo, popularly Cyrus Jirongo, is a politician and a former Member of Parliament in Kenya. Between 1978 and 1981 he went to Mang'u High School. He became the chairman of AFC Leopards football club in 1991.
Hassan Ali Joho is the Cabinet Secretary for Mining and Blue Economy in the Republic of Kenya & former Governor of Mombasa County affiliated with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). He was also elected to represent the Kisauni Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya during the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election. On 4 March 2013, during the general election, Joho was elected as the first governor of Mombasa County. In the 2017 General Elections held on 8 August, Joho retained his seat on an ODM ticket. Despite significant politically engineered setbacks, Joho emerged triumphant by winning with 220 576 votes against his closest rival Suleiman Shahbal with 69 322 votes, Suleiman was a member of the Jubilee Party. Joho served as governor of Mombasa until 2022 when he completed the constitutionally allowed two five-year terms. He was succeeded by Abdulswammad Sherrif Nassir the former member of the National Assembly for Mvita Constituency.
Gideon Musyoka Ndambuki is a Kenyan politician. He has been the Kaiti Constituency MP since 1997 when the constituency was established, and was a minister between 1998 and 2002. At the 1997 and 2002 elections he won the seat representing the KANU party, but represented the Orange Democratic Movement-Kenya at the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election. He unsuccessfully vied for the Makueni County Senate seat during Wiper Democratic Party nominations in the run-up to the 2013 General Elections in Kenya. Educated in the US, he was an employee of the Commercial Bank of Africa in the 1980s, and more controversially, Managing Director of Trade Bank between 1986 and its collapse in 1993.
Abdirahman Ali Hassan is a Kenyan politician. He served in the government of Kenya as assistant minister for trade and industry from 2005 to 2007. A member of the Orange Democratic Movement, He was elected to represent the Wajir South Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya in the Kenyan 2002 parliamentary election. He was also elected to the senate of Kenya in 2013, representing Wajir county, and becoming deputy minority leader in the senate.
Yusuf Hassan Abdi is a Kenyan politician, diplomat, social activist and former journalist. After working many years with the United Nations, he joined the Kenya parliament as a legislator in 2011.
Local elections were held in Mombasa to elect a Governor and County Assembly on 4 March 2013. Under the new constitution, which was passed in a 2010 referendum, the 2013 general elections were the first in which Governors and members of the County Assemblies for the newly created counties were elected. They will also be the first general elections run by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) which has released the official list of candidates.

Abdullswamad Sheriff Nassir is a Kenyan politician. He is the governor of Mombasa County. He was elected on an ODM ticket under Azimio la Umoja, One Kenya Alliance in the 2022 General Election. He earlier served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Mvita Constituency from 2012 to 2022).
Badi Twalib is a Kenyan politician and member of the Kenyan parliament elected from Jomvu constituency on the ticket of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). First elected to the 11th parliament in 2013, he serves on the parliamentary committees of Regional Integration and Joint Parliamentary Broadcasting and Library.
Hassan Mohamed Mwanyoha is a Kenyan politician and a former member of the Kenya parliament elected from Matuga Constituency, Kwale County. He was first elected to the Parliament in 2002 and again in 2013. He previously served as a councilor of Tiwi Ward for 15 years on a ticket of the Kenya African National Union (KANU).
Hassan Abdi Dukicha is a Kenyan politician and a member of the 11th parliament of Kenya elected from Galole Constituency on the ticket of United Democratic Forum (UDF) party with the support of Amani Coalition in 2013. He ran for the Tana River senate seat in 2022 but lost to the incumbent.
Abdikadir Omar Aden is a Kenyan politician a member of the 11th parliament of Kenya elected from Balambala Constituency, Garissa County on the ticket of Orange Democratic Movement in 2013. He lost his reelection bid in 2017.
Roba Sharu Duba is a Kenyan politician and a member of the 11th Kenyan parliament elected from Moyale Constituency on the ticket of United Democratic Forum Party (UDF) in 2013. He was CEO of The Local Authorities Provident Fund and was town clerk in Moyale, Kilifi, Mombasa and Nairobi where he resigned from the service to run in the 2013 parliamentary election for Moyale Constituency seat. His legislative interest focuses on security and inter-communal peace particularly in Moyale.
