Biography

Ratheena started her film career in 2010 as an assistant to Malayalam director Revathi. [6] Her debut as an independent director was marked by the release of the movie Puzhu .

Bhoothakkannadi is a 1997 Malayalam psychological drama film written and directed by A. K. Lohithadas in his directorial debut. It tells the story of Vidyadharan (Mammootty), a clockmaker, and his inability to deal with the harsh realities of life. This was Lohithadas's first movie as a director. Despite being a box office failure, the movie was critically acclaimed and is often regarded as a classic in Malayalam cinema. Lohithadas won the Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film of a Director at the National Film Awards. It won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Film in 1997. The film won two Filmfare Awards South. Puzhu (transl. Worm) is a 2022 Indian Malayalam-language psychological drama film directed by debutante Ratheena and jointly written by Harshad and Suhas-Sharfu. The film stars Mammootty, Appunni Sasi and Parvathy Thiruvothu in the lead roles. Cinematography of the film is handled by Theni Eswar and the film score and songs are composed by Jakes Bejoy.

Suhas and Sharfu are an Indian screenwriter duo working in Malayalam cinema. They wrote a total of five films, beginning with Varathan in 2018.

V. P. Khalid, also known as Cochin Nagesh was an Indian Malayalam film actor and theatre artist. Khalid was a member of several professional drama troupes. In 1973, he made his movie debut through Periyar directed by P. J. Antony. He rose to fame among the television audience for his role as ‘Sumeshettan’ in Malayalam series Marimayam, aired in Mazhavil Manorama. He died on 25 June 2022 at a film location in Vaikom after suffering a cardiac arrest.
