Rav is a village of three hamlets; Rav Moti, Rav Nani and Temple; in an open plain, located nineteen miles from Chobari, in Rapar Taluka of Kutch district of Gujarat, India.

Chobari is a village near Bhachau, in Bhachau Taluka in Kutch district of Gujarat state.

Rapar is a city and a municipality in Kutch district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Particularly this area of Kutch is called Vagad. The name derives from famous Vaghela rulers. It means the land of Vaghelas.

Kutch district is a district of Gujarat state in western India. Covering an area of 45,674 km², it is the largest district of India. The population of Kutch is about 2,092,000. It has 10 Talukas, 939 villages and 6 Municipalities. The Kutch district is home to the Kutchi people who speak the Kutchi language.

Ravechi Mata temple

There is a temple dedicated to Ravechi Mata on the bank of a large pond, built in 1821 (Samvat 1878) at a cost of £633 (24,000 Kutch koris). The temple is 30 feet long 17 broad and 54 high with two domed porches, the first 7 feet square and the second 14 feet by 7, and a shrine 14 feet by 13 raised on a platform 44 feet high. In the shrine, smeared with red paint and butter and with five other images at her side, is a large statue of Ravechi Mata and opposite it Naklank or the Horse incarnation standing on three legs on a pillar. The goddess is highly venerated by the people of Vagad region of Kutch. Out of the temple income about 500 cows are maintained, and travelers are fed daily with milk, curds, and bread. The old temple, a range of finely carved nine-domed shrines with porches built by the Pandavas, is said to have been destroyed by the troops of one of the Babi chiefs. At the corner of the courtyard wall is a memorial stone with an inscription dated 1271 (Samvat 1328).^[1]^[2]

The Kori was the currency of Kutch State until 1948. It was subdivided into 24 Dokda, each of 2 Trambiyo. Only coins were issued. Other copper coins in use were called Dhabbu and Dhinglo. The Kori was replaced by the Indian rupee at a rate of 1 Rupee = 3½ Koris.

Kalki, also called Kalkin or Karki, is the tenth avatar of Hindu god Vishnu to end the Kali Yuga, one of the four periods in the endless cycle of existence (krita) in Vaishnavism cosmology. He is described in the Puranas as the avatar who rejuvenates existence by ending the darkest and destructive period to remove adharma and ushering in the Satya Yuga, while riding a white horse with a fiery sword. The description and details of Kalki are inconsistent among the Puranic texts. He is, for example, only an invisible force destroying evil and chaos in some texts, while an actual person who kills those who persecute others, and some texts portrayed him as someone leading an army of Brahmin warriors to eliminate adharma from the world. His mythology has been compared to the concepts of Messiah, Apocalypse, Frashokereti and Maitreya in other religions.

In the Mahabharata, a Hindu epic text, the Pandavas are the five acknowledged sons of Pandu, by his two wives Kunti and Madri, who was the princess of Madra. Their names are Yudhishthira, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula and Sahadeva. All five brothers were married to the same woman, Draupadi.
