Ravi Raja Pinisetty is an Indian film director known for his works in the Telugu cinema with actors such as Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Mohan Babu, Rajasekhar and Daggubati Venkatesh. Some of his major hits include Yamudiki Mogudu with Chiranjeevi, Pedarayudu with Mohan Babu, Bangaru Bullodu with Nandamuri Balakrishna and Chanti with Venkatesh. [1] Most of his directorial ventures are remakes. He has directed about 40 films so far.

Ravi Raja Pinisetty has two sons. Elder son, Satya Prabhas, is a movie director and younger son Aadhi Pinisetty is an actor in Tamil and Telugu films. [2]

Yalamanchili Venkata Satyanarayana Chowdary is an Indian Telugu cinema writer, director, producer, distributor, exhibitor and a music company owner. He made his debut as a director in 1998 with the film Sri Sita Ramula Kalyanam Chootamu Raarandi produced by Nagarjuna under the banner "Great India Entertainments". He then directed Seetharama Raju starring Nagarjuna and Nandamuri Harikrishna, and Yuvaraju starring Mahesh Babu. He then established his own production house "Bommarillu Vari" and started producing his own directorial efforts with Lahiri Lahiri Lahirilo. Pratibandh is a 1990 Hindi-language action film directed by Ravi Raja Pinisetty and starring Chiranjeevi, Juhi Chawla and Rami Reddy. The film marked the Bollywood debut of leading Telugu film star Chiranjeevi. Chawla received a Best Actress nomination at the 36th Filmfare Awards for her performance in the film. The film is a remake of the 1989 Telugu film Ankusam. It was year's 10th highest grosser at Box office. The original Telugu version was a big hit as well.

Pedarayudu is a 1995 Indian Telugu-language drama film directed by Ravi Raja Pinisetty and starring Mohan Babu in a dual role with Rajinikanth, Bhanupriya and Soundarya also starred in the film. For his role, Mohan Babu won the Best Actor - Telugu at South Filmfare Awards. This film is a remake of the 1994 Tamil film, Nattamai. The film was recorded an 'industry' hit. It is also Rajini's last proper Telugu film till date.

The film released the same day as Nippu Ravva, which also starred Balakrishna. The film was recorded as a Hit at the box office.

Nippu Ravva is a 1993 Telugu-language action film, produced by M.V.Srinivas Prasad on Yuvarathna Arts banner and directed by A. Kodandarami Reddy. The film stars Nandamuri Balakrishna, Vijayashanti, and music composed by Bappi Lahiri & Raj–Koti with A. R. Rahman's background score. Nippu Ravva and Bangaru Bullodu, also starring Balakrishna, were released on the same day and both ran for over 100 days. It was dubbed into Tamil and Hindi as Suriya and Mawaali Raaj, respectively. It was also the last collaboration to mark actors, Vijayashanthi and Balakrishna together after featuring in several films previously and this was their 17th last pair.
