Justice Ravi Ranjan (born 20 December 1960) is an Indian Judge. He is former Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court [1] [2] and Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court and Patna High Court. [3]
Ravi Ranjan was born in a Bhumihar Brahmin family in 1960 at Patna. He passed M.Sc. in geology from Patna University,and LL.B. from Patna Law College in 1989. He was awarded Ph.D. in geology from Patna University. He joined Civil Engineering Department of the Bihar College of Engineering as a part-time Lecturer. After completion of LL.B.,Ranjan joined Patna High Court for legal practice. He was appointed by Union of India as Senior Standing Counsel on 26 June 2004. On 14 July 2008 Ranjan was elevated as an Additional Judge of Patna High Court. He became the permanent Judge on 16 January 2010. He was appointed the Chief Justice of High Court of Jharkhand on 17 November 2019. [4] [5] He was retired on 19 December 2022.
The Jharkhand High Court is one of the newest high courts in India. It was established in 2000. The court has jurisdiction over Jharkhand state.
The High Court of Judicature at Patna is the High Court of the state of Bihar. It was established on 3 February 1916 by British colonial government and was later affiliated under the Government of India Act 1915,making it one of the oldest High Court of India

Ranjan Gogoi is an Indian former advocate and judge who served as the 46th Chief Justice of India from 2018 to 2019,having previously served as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India from 2012 to 2018. He is currently a Member of the Rajya Sabha,having been nominated by President Ram Nath Kovind on 16 March 2020. Gogoi served as a judge in the Gauhati High Court from 2001 to 2010,and then was transferred as a judge to the Punjab and Haryana High Court from 2010 to 2011 where he later was the Chief Justice from 2011 to 2012. He is also a member of the Committee on External Affairs in the Rajya Sabha.
Dipak Misra is an Indian jurist who served as the 45th Chief Justice of India from 28 August 2017 till 2 October 2018. He is also former Chief Justice of the Patna High Court and Delhi High Court. He is the nephew of Justice Ranganath Misra,who was the 21st Chief Justice from 1990 to 1991.

Biswanath N. Agrawal is a former judge at Supreme Court of India. He started as a judge at Patna High Court in November 1986. Later,he was promoted as the Chief Justice at Orissa High Court in November 1999. He got to the Supreme Court of India as a judge on October 19,2000 and retired in 2009. He opposed National Judicial Commission legislation in 2014 that could move judges from one state to other. He said:
“If Judiciary is finished,democracy will be finished. This bill affects the independence of the judiciary,there is no doubt about it. The way Governors are being transferred to Mizoram,the Chief Justices and judges of the HCs will be transferred to newly created HCs in North East. No judge will be able to pass strong orders."
Munishwar Nath Bhandari is an Indian Judge. He is former Chief Justice of Madras High Court and currently serving as the Chairman,Appellate Tribunal under SAFEM Act,1976. He has also served as Acting Chief Justice of Madras High Court and Allahabad High Court and Judge of Allahabad High Court and Rajasthan High Court.
