"Recover" is the debut and fourth single by Welsh rock band The Automatic,taken from their debut album Not Accepted Anywhere . [3] Originally released on 21 November 2005 as a limited 7" vinyl,CD single and digital download, [4] it was re-released on 18 September 2006 [5] as the band's record labels,B-Unique &Polydor,believed it could perform better and reach a larger audience after the band's success with previous single "Monster". [6]
The track was originally recorded in 2005 at the Elevator Studios in Liverpool,with Ian Broudie as producer; [7] this version was featured on the 21 November 2005 release,as well as on the Raoul EP and the UK version of Not Accepted Anywhere. The re-recording of "Recover" took place in Monnow Valley Studio in Monmouth,with Richard Jackson as producer. Both recordings were mixed by Stephen Harris. For the USA release of Not Accepted Anywhere the Ian Broudie mix was used,but it was remastered by Leon Zervos at Sterling Sound in New York City,and re-mixed by Mark Needham. [8]

The song was performed live on The Friday Night Project's third season, making The Automatic the first band to make a return performance after they performed their single "Raoul" the season before. [10] [11]
For the original 2005 release artwork by Antar was used on the CD and vinyl. [12] In 2006 artist Dean 'D*Face' Stockton created two new separate artworks, which would be used for two CD singles and a 7" vinyl.

Three music videos were ultimately made for "Recover".
The original video for "Recover" was first released on 7 November 2005. The video features footage from live performances, as well as a small white room where all the bandmates are singing and jumping around. The video was rarely aired, however is available on The Automatic's website, as well as YouTube. The music video was directed by Phaelon Productions [13] [14]
A second video was also released which received airplay on MTV2 and other music stations, the video features live footage, and shots from the original video. [15] This version cuts out all of the previous scenes with the large mouths instead of heads on the band members, as well as cutting out all scenes of the women who pass out in the park.
The latest version of The Automatic's video for "Recover" released on 1 September 2006 [16] and directed by Up the Resolution, [17] is based around a wrestling match, where the band are dressed as several different people each, both spectators and other various people, whilst they perform on the stage/ring. Whilst this is going on the 'fight' is also happening; however, the camera switches to and from the fight, and the band playing on the same ring. [18]

The Automatic was a Welsh rock band. The band's last-known lineup was composed of Robin Hawkins on vocals, bass and synthesisers, James Frost on guitar, synthesisers, backing vocals and occasional bass, Iwan Griffiths on drums and Paul Mullen on vocals, guitar and synthesiser. Mullen joined after the departure of Alex Pennie, who provided synthesiser, percussion and vocals.
Going For Gold is a singles compilation album by the British rock band Shed Seven, released in May 1999 via Polydor Records. James Martin Frost is the guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocalist of Welsh band The Automatic, and guitarist and backing vocalist for Cardiff-based band Effort. As well as his musical duties for The Automatic, Frost has also directed two of the band's music videos and their tour video diaries. He currently resides in Cardiff, Wales.

Raoul is the owner of a sandwich shop in Cardiff, who would make the band's sandwiches

Ripchord were an English four piece rock band, formed in 2004 in Wolverhampton. The band supported acts such as The Kooks, Babyshambles and The Kaiser Chiefs. They took their name from the Radiohead song ‘Ripcord’ with an added 'h'.
"One More Night Alone" is a song by pop trio Friday Hill, released as the second and final single from their debut studio album, Times Like These, on 13 February 2006. Despite being released under the name Friday Hill, the song is included as part of Blazin' Squad's discography. Upon its release, the song reached No. 13 on the UK Singles Chart

This Is A Fix is the second album by Wales-based band The Automatic. It was released on 25 August 2008. The band worked with producer Don Gilmore in Los Angeles, but were disappointed with these sessions, and instead worked with Butch Walker at Sage and Sound Recording in Los Angeles then back in Cardiff with Richard Jackson and London with Stephen Harris.

The Tear the Signs Down album tour was a tour by the Welsh rock band The Automatic, in support of their third album Tear the Signs Down. The band made their live comeback at Cardiff Barfly on 19 September 2009 and soon after announced a string of dates in November where they would preview new material from their then upcoming album.
