Flight of the Living Dead: Outbreak on a Plane is a 2007 direct-to-video zombie film by director Scott Thomas. Thomas co-wrote the screenplay with Mark Onspaugh and Sidney Iwanter. The film was originally titled Plane Dead, but the title was changed at Montreal's 2007 Fantasia Festival screening. In spite of a successful screening there and at other festivals, the film did not gain a commercial release and was issued directly to DVD in unrated form.

Released on October 13, 2009, Death Troopers is set just before the events shown in A New Hope. It was heavily featured in the MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies with SOE confirming a full page of information and advertisements of the game in the book. On September 22, 2010, Ballantine Books revealed the cover of the prequel novel, also by Schreiber, called Red Harvest.

Takashi Shimizu also served as executive producer, and Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi supervised the film. It is the third CG film, preceded by Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) and Resident Evil: Damnation (2012), and also the third film installment with Leon Kennedy as a main character. It was released in Japan on May 27, 2017. A sequel, Resident Evil: Death Island, was released in 2023.
